Traveling through Longview and needed lunch. We walked into one loud place and walked right out. We didn't think we'd feel any more at home at the restaurants that popped up on Google Maps. So, we were very, very grateful to The Gifted Kitchen—right off Cowlitz Way. The very kind ladies at The Gifted Kitchen understand some travelers need a meal as good as what we'd make for ourselves at home. And, we don't need noise. We enjoyed the tasty minestrone with garlic mashed potatoes and a delicious peanut-buttery pastry. Other offerings also looked very appetizing. They know what we need. It's the only place we'd go to in Longview. The person who found their food flavorless may perhaps have a palate that's adapted to over-salted, over-spiced restaurant food. Oh I LOVE this place!!! Their chicken pot pies are to die for!!! I had a friend who had surgery, I offered to bring dinner so I bought one for them. The best comfort food! Then of course I needed to pick one up for my family. There was much rejoicing last night. Oh don't get me started on their pastries and desserts! Decadent!!! Everything is made fresh every day with high quality ingredients. The cashier told me they come in every morning at 6:00 am and start baking. Fresh, real food to grab from the fridge to either take home, or there are also tables to eat there. They have a range of items, including healthy wraps, salads, soups, and mixed veggies. You can also pick up a quiche, pasta dish, or chicken pot pie with baking instructions. The Gifted Kitchen has single servings ready, or family meal options as well.
