Moved to Washington recently, locals recommended Burgerville. This is my honest review: Wait 10 mins in line to get to speaker. When I approached the speaker, the lady was very kind and prompt. Placed my order (a 1/2lb collosal burger, with a regular fries and strawberry lemonade to drink). This cost me over 13$. Wait another 30 mins for the 3 cars infront of me to get their orders (at this point I have waited over 40 mins). At the second window, the gentlemen handed me my drink without a greeting, not even acknowledging me once..it was weird. I finally get my food in a grease stained brown paper bag.
The burger was sub par. It was cold, the cheese wasn't melted, and the lettuce was wilted and...chewy. the pickles were good I guess, but I had to force down that burger as not to waste money and it was a challenge.
The fries were cold as well (I ate one as soon as I got the bag, they were warm at best, but stale and definitely not tasty unfortunately. The garlic aoli dipping sauce helped me forget how cold and dry the fries were.
The drink was probably the best part. It tasted fresh and I hope to God its made fresh as I felt a chunk of what I assumed was pulp lol.
I drove 40 mins to get here, it was definitely not worth it. I would rather drive for 1.5 hours to in n out in Portland, as they have never disappointed me, always consistent and tasty.
The reason this is not a 1 star is because the lady was very friendly at the drive through window and the drink was good. I hope to anyone reading this that they have a better experience than I did! I will probably never eat here again based on my...
Read moreKelso WA Burgerville is open for customers inside again, and has reopened their outside picnic area. However, I don't like it when fast food employees ask for a tip, especially not a whopping 18%, 25%, or 30% tip. For this reason, I downgraded my rating from 5 to 3 stars.
Traditionally, people don't tip at fast food places. During COVID, many people tipped at fast food restaurants because food workers were hurting and we wanted to help them. During COVID I tipped at fast food places, but that was a COVID thing.
COVID is (mostly) over, Russian-Ukraine war is going on, and there's massive inflation. Everyone is financially hurting now. Prices on everything are up, especially fuel and food prices are way up. Then on top of that Burgerville (and some other fastfood places) employees are still encouraging (pressuring) customers to give big tips.
I don't want to feel pressured to leave a tip at fastfood place, especially not a large tip. I'm financially hurting now too. Most people are hurting now. Please stop asking for tips at fastfood restaurants.
There are still fast food places that don't panhandle for tips. From now on, I'm going to choose fast food places that don't ask for a tip.
Note: The photos of Burgerville that I uploaded with my review are photos I took in 2019 (before COVID). I don't recall if in 2022 Burgerville has its flags flying again. In 2022 they have not put up their umbrellas at the picnic tables. When I've gone there in 2022, there have been fewer cars in parking lot and less customers than was the case in 2019. i.e. - in 2022 it's less busy than in 2019 when I...

So, I've noticed that most of these fast food chains around town don't care about their employees, or their well being. When a restaurant fires one of its own based on lies from a customer... without even getting the employee's side of the story... you know they don't care about their employees. I'm not surprised given the recent treatment of employees of the chain wanting a wage increase, and a formation of a union.
When a customer is smoking a cigar in the drive through... and is asked to put it out because IT IS A HEALTH VIOLATION & AGAINST THE LAW TO SMOKE WITHIN 25 FEET OF A RESTAURANT... WSL Chapter 70.160 RCW... and said customer blows a huge puff of smoke into the face of the employee... then the customer asks for a refund because he wants free food and is a jerk... and the employee closes the window and gets a manager... I don't think management or the franchise can blame the employee for "handling this situation wrong". Even if the customer falsifies statements... what was the employee supposed to do?
I'm thinking of calling the better business bureau and the health inspector.
Learn how to treat your employees Burgerville. They're the backbone of your company, they deserve better treatment. At the very least they should be given the basic decency to defend themselves before termination.
VERY DISAPPOINTING. I WILL NOT BE EATING HERE AGAIN... AND I'LL BE SURE TO TELL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY ABOUT YOUR TREATMENT...
