Huey Magoo's Chicken Tenders - Longwood — Restaurant in Longwood

I went to the Huey Magoo's in longwood Florida with my 8-year-old daughter. The exterior looked modern and inviting, so we decided to give it a try. Despite the simple concept of chicken tenders, the menu was surprisingly confusing, making it difficult to make a selection.

When it came time to pay, I was prompted to answer a question before completing the transaction. The cashier mentioned a question would appear, which turned out to be about tipping. Surprisingly, there was no option to decline leaving a tip. The only choices were 10%, 15%, 20%, 30%, or "Other." Feeling uncomfortable to ask about if there is a "no tip" option, I had no choice but to select "Other" and enter a $1 tip just to proceed. This is particularly unusual for a fast-food restaurant with a drive-thru, where tipping is not customary.

When we opened the box, the chicken tenders and fries looked unappealing, which was disappointing. The fries were okay, but the overall quality did not match the price. We spent $30 on two chicken wraps and two chicken tenders with fries, which felt overpriced for the portion and quality. We could have had a better experience at another fast-food chain for the same price.

In summary, while the food was decent, the forced tipping experience and underwhelming quality left...

Okay so, i have given up on Hueys back in Daytona Beach location thinking they just declined in general and was ready to give this location benefit of the doubt. I was mistaken i believe that downgrade in quality is accord the board. Chicken was chewy and over seasoned, fires were okay and sauce was good. But i came for some good chicken tenders and was disappointed. Service was good, guy who took my order was great. Ambiance is kind of laid back and unbothered, i didn't appreciate the vibe. Overall i got food i ordered and i wasn't hungry so i guess that is a win. There is a lot of potential here, you just need to get chicken right.

P.S. My ratings are based on whether I believe I could make a better or healthier version at home. If food/drinks/service impress me, I'll be happy to come back. If not the stars...

Ordered a 5 piece fried chicken tender meal, with fries, coleslaw, and garlic bread.

Rating: Tenders and sauce - 5 Fries were dried out and mushy - 2 Cole slaw - 5 Garlic Bread, dry, hard , and chewy, with little flavor - 1

Ordered at drive-thru.

Girl taking orders was very enthusiastic sounding.

Girl at the window was very friendly with the two cars in front of me in the drive thru. When I got to the window she turned cold with a rude expression, then someone else came to the window to take her place. Maybe she was tired of being fake and acting nice and had to take a break.
