TK Coffee & Donuts — Restaurant in Longwood

I’ve been craving donuts this week, but my go-to “luxe” donut shop is further away from where I live to make a random stop during a workday. I did a quick Google search and found this place last night- it looked so good, I determined right then and there that I’d go this morning. The store is modern, bright, and clean. The woman working was friendly and welcoming, helping me as I asked questions but not making me feel uncomfortable or like I was taking too long. I knew I was going to get a variety, but since I went around 11a I knew the pickins might be slim. I was pleasantly surprised with the variety that was still available. In addition to the donuts in the picture, I got a regular sausage roll and a free classic glazed for my first order there. Ratings for each are below.

=Classic Glazed- 10/10, not your average glazed that’s for sure! This has a bit more texture and substance, and does not flatten at the first bite. =Maple Glazed- 5/10, one of the more disappointing flavors. I prefer a stronger maple flavor, while this was definitely a lighter flavor- maybe others would like it because of that. I’m also harsher here because maple is my favorite. =Oreo & S’mores- 6/10, the individual specialty flavors aren’t very present. I was expecting more marshmallow and graham cracker inside or something- similar with the Oreo. =Apple Fritter- 9/10, SO good. I loved the texture, how crispy it was on the outside and how flavorful it was. Great with some coffee. =Chocolate Glazed- 7.5, pretty much only missing points because at this hour they only had Bavarian cream and lemon prefilled, and so I left this one empty. Really want to try this filled with the pastry cream next time! =Guava Cream Cheese Doissant- 100/10, absolutely DIVINE. I’m a sucker for all guava pastries, but this is my first doissant. The crispy layers with cinnamon sugar complemented the soft interior and filling perfectly. This was the ONLY doissant left, so my goal is to go earlier next time and “catch them all” so to say. 😋 =Regular Sausage Roll- 10/10, delicious. I love a good hot dog alternative (looking at you, Auntie Anne’s!), and this hit the spot. If I didn’t have a box of donuts, I would’ve gotten another one of these. Super yum.

So did I love every flavor? No, not love. But I had fun trying them. Am I going back? Absolutely! I especially want to try the other doissant and sausage roll flavors. 😋😋

First time visiting..breakfast is provided for a large company I work for and figured I’d try this place out to see if it’d be an establishment we’d use in the future. I went out my way to visit as I live several cities away. When I entered it was nice and clean and the young lady working at the counter greeted me and was very friendly. There was a very small selection of donuts to choose from, nothing any fancier than I’ve seen at any other specialty donut shop. I asked the young lady if it was possible to get a few yeast donuts with powdered sugar on them or just in a bag with powdered sugar sprinkled on them as they don’t really offer many simple classic flavored donuts..only option they offered was a filled powdered donut. She thought my request was simple enough but wanted to ask the (I assume owner or manager). She asked her question and the manager without even looking my way or acknowledging me gave a very stern NO (as if somewhat annoyed) and walked thru the doors to the back.. I was a bit put off by what I sensed was an attitude but I told the friendly young lady THANK YOU for asking and I purchased 1 coconut donut and went about my day. It’s the company’s choice but in today’s day and age with so many options sometimes and social media content creators, going the small extra mile means ALOT when it comes to customer service. My opinion is if you have a donuts to go or royal king or any other donut shop in your area don’t waste your gas or time driving here.. you’re really not missing anything..my local donut shop, staff and owners are more accommodating and friendly and carry more of a variety of donuts. Really wanted to love this place! A friend and I took our 3 daughters here the weekend after Valentine’s Day. Walking in it is super cute and airy but it ended there. 😕 The staff didn’t greet us until we said hello to them. Seeing we were first timers and didn’t know the menu they didn’t offer any suggestions or ideas. Stood there staring at us. Kinda uncomfortable. We then asked what a couple of the donuts were filled with and the girl had to go ask someone else. ( shouldn’t you know since your the one handing them out). Just super blah. The music playing was so low and underwhelming. Maybe our expectations were too high. We expected cute/bubbly and inviting. As for the food. Everyone liked what they ordered! ( 5 different doughnuts and 2 different hotdog flavors) zero complaints there! We will probably try again in the future since the food was yummy and prices were fair! Maybe different girls...
