We arrived around 6:30 pm for Friday night dinner, and the restaurant was not very crowded. We waited at the front door for a few minutes for a hostess to seat us, but there was no one in sight, so we just seated ourselves at a convenient table. A waitress eventually showed up and took our order of mixed fajitas for two washed down with a house margarita. The customary chips and salsa soon arrived. The chips were thin and crispy, however there was only one choice of salsa, which was a little watery and mild for my taste. It would be nice if they had a choice of a couple of different salsas, including one with a little more fire. The fajitas were well cooked with tasty onions and peppers, however again they were on the bland side. I understand that a large majority of the customers were "gringos" with tender palates, but an authentic Mexican restaurant needs some spicier options for those customers who want a true Mexican food experience.... As the evening progressed, several more customers showed up, waiting patiently at the front entrance to be seated by the hard-to-find staff, who seemed to be spending an inordinate amount of time in the kitchen. The highlight of the evening for us was the musical entertainment provided by singer Don Eugenio, a native of Mexico City. He sang several delightful Spanish ballads and also played some Flamenco on his acoustic guitar. His smooth voice suited the Spanish ballads well, however his strong Spanish accent was a slight hindrance when he switched to classic American pop oldies. It was a pleasant surprise to discover this hidden gem in a strip shopping center restaurant. We will definitely return again, however the bland food, and the lack of a proper hostess/ attentive waitress at the front door, kept me from giving this restaurant a five...
Read moreI went to this place a couple of weeks ago for the first time, it was taco Tuesday but since it was our first time here we decided to be a little bit more adventurous and order what the waitress suggested my daughter order the porky burrito and me and my husband shared the 3 amigos and a molvajete because we couldn’t decide. The food was amazing and the service thanks to our waitress Brenda was beyond great. I have to say that it looks like she was the only one that spoke English because a party of about 6 next to my booth kept calling her by her name (that’s why We learned her name lol) to translate for the other waitress who seemed lost. Well my teenage daughter who doesn’t like anything much places asked me if we can celebrate her birthday here so we decided to come one more time before her birthday, and well this time our experience was awful when we tried to order, we asked for recommendations and our waitress speaks 0 English but what made me mad is that she wasn’t even trying to understand what we were saying, I looked for the waitress we got last time but unfortunately she wasn’t there, well we finally were able to order our food but we had a couple of questions about our food that she couldn’t answer. the food Came in late and cold hopefully the management will do something to resolve this issue because the food was amazing But the fact that they have such a bad service makes me not wanting to go back. so if you like good food but don’t mind if you get a bad service then come here, us? Well we might give it a try in a couple of weeks and see if this problem was resolved. But we will be celebrating my day birthday...
Read moreHeard and saw reviews that new ownership took over, I decided to visit with family. The restaurant is in a decent corner of the plaza. We were excited to have access to halal Mexican food after a long time and I was very disappointed. I couldn’t find the food that someone posted a week ago in the review and then my server bought me the old menu. We were excited to order a lot of dishes including tacos. The service was terrible since we were the only ones there to dine and a couple of takeout orders came when we were waiting for our food. First we got complimentary chips with no salsa until I went to them to ask for it. The tacos didn’t come close to what we have eaten or made before. There was no kind of salsa verde/rojo provided for the tacos and the cheese was cold. The quality of shrimp taco for the price could use a lot of improvement. The churasco meal/platter was nice. I hope the service and quality of food improves soon in the near future. My friends who visited here were also let down by the service and food. I hope to visit again in the future to see if the food/service has improved otherwise I wish them the...
