5 Cazuelas — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I could talk at length about this place. I have. I even made a whole video review of their menu. 5 cazuelas is the best tacos I’ve had in LA. I love this place and the woman who runs it is amazing and friendly. The decor is lovely, they have this gorgeous sleek trailer and these little white flowers with purple tipped petals, the whole place is a vibe.

Every taco they have is amazing. The Cochinita pibil is incredible but my favorite is the Rajas, an alchemical miracle of peppers, corn, and cream that tastes like nothing you’ve eaten before and nothing that could be made by the human hand, it’s the most delicious substance I’ve ever eaten. Rajas are incredible. I’ve never had a taco like that and I’m always looking for more.

The Cochinita pibil is more traditional, slow cooked pork meat with deep tangy flavor and an incredible fermented habanero salsa, and most of their tacos are dressed with little sprouts and edible flower petals, each taco is literally a work of art, you could almost cry looking at one. The blue tortillas, delicious fillings, immaculate garnishes, there is truly no other taco like it in LA, and possibly the world? I beg of you to check out this place, it deserves to be famous.

Fall in love with the place, and the tacos, and the lovely chef who makes it, and enrich your life. You deserve it.

I will say that I’m not crazy about the location. I think if they moved they would get more business. It’s tricky cuz it’s a busy road and a turn and it’s hard to turn and find parking, it’s a bit hectic....

There comes a time in every taco eater’s life when they yearn for something greater. The crackling splendor of an al pastor spit fades; the lights of the nightstand no longer shine so brightly; and it is precisely at this zenith of disillusionment that I encountered 5 Cazuelas. This is no ordinary taco truck, it is a taco visionary, bringing novel flavors and textures to its customers. It almost feels like thievery to eat such Michelin-quality fare for the low prices they offer. I cannot recommend this unassuming taco truck enough to taco enthusiasts young, old, novice...
