In all my years of living in the US, I had the best customer experience at Baba Sweets. Here is why I say that. We are from the Stockton area and were visiting LA when we dined at this place upon our return back home. The restaurant was kept very clean including the restroom. Sardar brother who assisted us was the most cooperative person I had ever come across. I say this because I often see many people just hating their jobs and not putting any effort whatsoever to provide a pleasant experience to the customer. But my wife and I kept adding to our order and kept requiring additional items for our two year old son and he was quick to fulfill our numerous requests. I did not see him upset for even a second about having to listen to our numerous requests.
On top of great customer service, their food was some of the best I have ever tasted. We ordered their special of the day which was makki di roti with saag and boy it was delicious. We also loved our combination thali. We ended up ordering food for our road trip as well and also purchased some snacks (loved their gujia). Everything tasted quite fresh. I was surprised to see their prices being so low despite providing excellent service and delicious food. This combo is hard to find these days. Many times I just end up tipping due to cultural pressures but this time I wanted to tip the brother from my heart. Alas he told me their cash register system does not allow them to add tips and I did not have any cash on me by some bad fortune. But I have added their restaurant as a favorite in my Google Maps and will make a special visit to dine at Baba Sweets whenever we go to LA next time....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst of all, Iām not Indian but I noticed the restaurant is frequently full with local Indians so I figure if the locals like the food it must be really good. Personally, I absolutely love their food here! Itās rich in flavor, and the spices they use in their food is oh so delicious! The restaurant is not close to where I live but I make a effort to come as often as I can. Itās like a fast food restaurant for Indian food where you stand in a line and order your food from a counter, similar to a Panda Express. The food is already made sitting behind a glass counter and you pick which dishes you like. They have a one, two, or three combo plate you can choose from that includes naan, rice, and a side dessert. Their all vegetarian dishes and eventually I want to try every single dish. They also have free self service tea to go with your meal. The tea is also awesome! On the other side of the counter is another counter filled with all kinds of incredible looking desserts. The service is excellent here, they speak English and are very patient with me when I canāt pronounce the names of their dishes. One last point, their prices are very affordable. Cost less than a Panda...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBaba sweets is a very good eating place. I know Babaji had started this in early years. He is the most humble person I have ever met. Always very kind and thinking of the customers first. The food is very good and freshly made everyday. I have enjoyed their food.
But lately I have found that the younger generation donāt have same values. They really do not care about the customers. They do not know how to treat the customers with kindness and dignity. All they care about is the business.
They become rude to customers and do not realize if they are addressing a lady or not. I have experienced this kind of behavior few times, and I do not feel like going there anymore. Without the customers there will not be any business. May be more organization is needed and more staff.
They have to improve their attitude and respect the customers, because there will not be any business without the customers. They could get 5 stars but without change in attitude, it is...
