Catch Me Sushi — Restaurant in Los Angeles

To be brief, this was amazing..

I have very high standards when it comes to dining out and especially with sushi. Catch Me Sushi is offically my new sushi spot!! Fantastic experience here! Very very fresh fish! Properly cut, not too big or too small.

I called ahead and asked if they offered Omakase (chefs choice) where they bring out plate after plate without me having to order. They offer it for sushi and sashimi, both fantastic. The chef dresses the fish wonderfully with appropriate sauces and topping so there was no need to dip most of the cuts served. While on the phone, they offered to reserve me a table which was made me feel important. With the hot weather I was concerned about eating raw fish but everything was cold and high quality.

Sister ordered two cut rolls that tasted great and were proportional, not all rice like some places.

I had 10 different plates ranging in all different cuts of fish, each uniquely prepared and truly balanced. They don't have beer BUT they directed me to a local liquor store so I could have a Sapporo with my meal. Didn't have a cold glass so they brought a bucket of ice out to chill my glass before I poured my beer!

Claudia and Andrina provided wonderful service! Can't thank them enough! Got an Edamame appetizer on the house since they're trying to bring in more business which was very nice. Before my last plate I told my server Claudia that I wanted to "go out with a bang" and they definitely delivered. The chef himself came out to present my last dish with was plated beautifully with the best Tamago I've ever had!

Almost like they could read my mind, I really enjoyed my last dish, but it did not give me that end of my meal feeling. I used to be a regular here. The head sushi chef Mo is very talented and a great guy. Unless he's preparing your sushi or there managing his team, your in for a subpar experience. Other than a few of the service staff, most of them are punk kids with very bad attitudes. The kind that sit around looking at their cell phones and going out of their way so they don't have eye contact with you and don't have to serve you. You can have stacks of plates next to you that are dirty and they'll walk by them and won't think to even pick them up. The last time I was there when I sat down the waitress didn't say word to me just walked over to me and just tipped her head up I guess indicating like "what do you want?". This is our new go-to sushi pick-up place, the price is more than fair and the preparation time is pretty quick. Most of the time our order was ready before the time mentioned which is always a good thing. The selection is pretty good and the so is the taste. We enjoy it a lot and will come back for more. I do recommend making sure they got your extras in the bag (chop-sticks, sauces, etc.) because the last time we ordered, we didn't and my eel was missing its sauce... luckily had chop-sticks at home.
