đ¨ Save Yourself the Disappointment â Skip Beaâs Bakery! đ¨
I canât even explain how unbelievably bad this experience was. We ordered what was supposed to be a special cake for my momâs birthday, and it turned out to be the biggest letdown.
First red flag: the cake came out plain. No flowers, no decoration just sad and bare. When my niece brought it up, they brushed her off and said there was nothing they could do. Then, they had the nerve to charge her an extra $6 for some tiny, half-hearted flowers that looked like they were just painted on. Completely cheap and insulting.
But it got worse. When we cut into the cake, the filling was supposed to be fresh raspberries instead, it was this awful jelly-like goop that tasted artificial and slimy. The cake itself literally fell apart. Honestly, it was the worst cake our family has ever had from Beaâs, and weâve been coming here for over 20 years.
Something has clearly changedâownership, management, or just pure neglect but Beaâs Bakery has gone downhill fast. This was a milestone birthday, and they ruined it with garbage-quality product and zero accountability.
đ If youâre thinking about ordering here, donât do it. There are plenty of bakeries that still care about their craft and their customers. Beaâs is NOT one of them anymore.

Read moreupdate January 5, 2024. Baked goods are still great as ever. The owner must have noted some reviews about service. Itâs improved. Itâs still annoying when theyâre busy and 2-3 employees are chilling and chatting. Then after a few minutes they regain awareness and ask if anyone needs help. Itâs hard to not like this classic bakery tho.
Damn. I feel for the owner. I know they canât be on scene at all times, but if they were they wouldnât miss out on sales. With this economy itâs tough to find help and the help knows it and carries that IDGAF swagger. In their minds the customer is the enemy. If you can get a better job get it. Why sabotage a legit iconic business like Beaâs? They are heartless thieves basically stealing a paycheck and costing the owner $.$$. Every little bit counts and they donât get it that thereâs a lot of options- including skipping pastries all together. But, the snot nosed help doesnât pay the rent every month so they donât care even a bit. And thatâs probably why I was alone in a bakery on a Sunday morning. And with one customer, me, and 3 idle employees, none of them with the energy or will to ring up a $5 pastry that costs the owner $0.18 in materials. Damn. I feel...
Read moreI 've been going to Bea's Bakery since I was a very small child. We got my birthday cakes, my brothers' birthday cakes, and all of our Holiday and just run of the mill treats, cookies, cupcakes, and pasteries from Bea's. Going to Bea's Bakery was as regular as going to the supermarket. It also always meant we were gonna go to Mort's Delicatessen which was right next door but the really cool thing about these 2 places is that the interior wall that divided the 2 spaces was removed so you can get to both without going outside. I remember getting my Sweet 16 cake and picking out the design and adding my own creative touches by telling the decorator exactly what i wanted and she did an amazing job. When I turned 21 my parents and best friend/roommates threw me a huge surprise party complete with a celebratory cake with an awesome design with pink elephants and a real champagne bottle and 2 champagne flutes for more celebrating later into the nite! I just recently turned 54 and Bea's bakery still makes the best baked goods around. In fact, I am headed there right now to pick up my dad's favorite cake from them in honor of celebrating his 88th...
