I would like to give 0 stars if that were possible. I went in to the library with my kids today and 2 of the women there whose names I wish I would have gotten were EXTREMELY RUDE. The only person who was actually kind and helpful was one gentleman at the front desk. The woman at the information desk very rudely scolded my daughter for putting a book back on the shelf that she had just grabbed it from. I didn’t make a big deal considering she then stated she didn’t mean to yell, but apparently she continued to scold my daughter after I walked over to a different area of the library. (My kids didn’t tell me this until we were already driving home, otherwise I would've returned and brought this to her attention.) The other woman, also very rude, suggested that I take my toddler to the park instead of the library because he had a ball with him (which he was not playing with) and began to become fussy towards the end of our visit. As I returned to the information desk to finally check our books out before closing time, the lady there turned to me and said, “NOW what else do you want?” I guess having asked for her help finding our books (2 of which she never found) was too much to ask of her. (Maybe this isn’t the job for her). By this point, I no longer wanted to check the books out, so I put the books down and responded, “ you know what, I don’t want anything”. Now, she had the audacity to ask, “why not?” I stated that she and the other woman were very rude and I proceeded to leave the library with my kids. I will definitely not be returning to this location and will go to a different branch where I’m sure the staff will be much more polite. This was such a negative experience for us, as I did not expect our visit to the library to conclude this way. I sure hope they do not continue to treat other...
Read moreI have come to this library many times before, just for a quiet place to study. Never had any issues except for some of the staff talking loudly.
Today I needed to use a computer and ask the women at the front desk how to go about using their computers. She was very pleasant and said I just needed to fill out an application.
I fill out said application, and now talking with another young female at the desk. She told me I needed proof of residency, and that if I didn’t have it, that it would be a 50$ charge.
I do not mind, and would have paid 100$ for a library card, but it was how RUDE she was. I asked her if I needed to leave and go back home to obtain this information and she laughed in my face. She said... you don’t have a bank statement online? I said no. She said you don’t have a bill with you? I said no....... Absolutely no eye contact and her tone was disgusting.
IF YOU DONT LIKE YOUR JOB THEN GET A NEW ONE.
I am here to further my education, not to steal your WiFi.
I will drive farther to another library to people who treat their customers...
Read moreI wish I could give more stars... but I've been to this library a few times now and unfortunately there have been two people at the Information desk that were both very short tempered and rude for absolutely no reason. I witnessed one of the workers today being extremely mouthy to a patron trying to get something printed. And when I came to ask my question she seemed very annoyed that I couldn't find the book on my own. A little kindness goes a long way and the folks working the information desk, have NONE. The people working the other desk where you actually check out your books have always been wonderful. Just wanted to warn anyone who goes here what you might encounter. Otherwise, the library itself is very clean and offers lots of great services. They are also giving aways free masks and covid tests right now so...
