This place had opened before I started going to CSUN. After almost a year of waiting til I got accepted, I would always browse through their website and Facebook page. Once I got into CSUN, this was the first place for me to try out. Boy it was worth the wait. The bahn mi (vietnamese sandwich) is quite different from the franchise, Lee Sandwiches. It has got its own texture, flavor and taste. The bun is crispy and fresh. The meats are well cooked. Each vietnamese sandwich if ordered in the restaurant is given complimentary shrimp chips. IF ordered for pick-up or to-go, there are no shrimp chips. But there are shrimp chips to-go, if preferred. The shrimp chips is like having chips and dip at a mexican restaurant. I advise you try some. I have come to love the spring rolls and the lemongrass chicken bun-me. The boba, also is really good here. There hasn't been any good boba places in the san fernando valley that can match the boba texture here. I usually aim for the large boba milk tea. Maybe one suggestion is to have a loyalty card for a milk-tea.. buy 9.. get one medium free, but...
Read moreLatest update: Adding Summer Roll as my favorite, I phoned order Spring Roll thinking that it's the non-fried kind, but the owner redo a Summer Roll for me! Very kind and accommodating. I love the peanut sauce and the fresh vege & shrimp with a hint of mint, so it's absolutely delicious. A chicken Bun Me & Summer Roll make great lunch. Happy Eating!
Original post: Sick of Subway? Try this Vietnamese French Sandwich called Banh Mi the original comes with pork pate, crunchy slaw, cilantro, & jalopenos on a warm crusty demi baguette, absolutely delicious. Don't eat pork? Their BBQ chicken is flavorful and if you eat there, fresh shrimp chips is provided. Be sure to ask for NO jalopenos for those who don't like spicy food. They also have hot soup items like pho, it's not bad, but the 'Bun Me' is a must try item. My husband once ordered two Bun Me for himself!! Seating is limited and it often gets crowded during lunch....
Read moreUnfortunately I'm very disappointed with the vegan Bahn mi. I read some of the reviews that said that it was very tasty which it is to a degree. How ever it was salty AF and dear God its $12 for a bahn mi and it compares nothing to a real bahn mi. Everything from their bread, to the size, The bread has little to no crunch . It's soggy and the veggie ,meat to bread ratio is awful ... Their chili paste is low quality and extremely salty . Personally, I wont be coming back and I would explore others to go somewhere where the food is made with the buyer in mind not the price for rent or w.e these restraunts are doing now a days.. it just made me loose my appetite thinking I spent 21.00 on a salty bahn mi and spring rolls... Lol 😆 what is this world coming to . I wouldn't be complaining about the price but sincerely. 2/5 for the poor quality . Never again . Def's not vegan friendly ..DO NOT EAT HERE...
