This place is fantastic! We never tried Afghan food before and wanted to try something commonly found in Afghanistan - when we went inside we were greeted by extremely friendly staff who walked us through the menu and gave their best recommendations. They recommended the bihari kabob for our intro to Afghan cuisine, and we wanted to try their chicken tikka masala because whenever it’s on a menu anywhere, we always like to try. We got some garlic naan and cheese naan as well, and rasmalai for dessert. The bihari kabob was HEAVEN ON A PLATE. ORDER THIS! The meat was incredibly flavorful and better than any regular kebab you get elsewhere.
The chicken tikka masala was fantastic as well! We have probably had close to 100 different chicken tikka masala’s and they’re all very different…some too spicy, some too tomatoey, but Biryani Kabob House’s was VERY good. Very close to the best we’ve ever had - only one or two places we’ve been had better, and those were nicer sit-down Indian restaurants, which isn’t really fair because it seems like this place focuses more on Pakistani cuisine. So overall, that was an excellent dish as well, and we would definitely order it again.
The garlic naan and cheese naan were amazing! The cheese naan was on another level - you absolutely should get an order of it. It’s addicting! And even the rasmalai for dessert was super good - it was actually homemade unlike so many other Indian and Pakistani restaurants that take the easy way out and buy desserts premade wholesale. I cannot stress how much you should be running to check this place out. You will be very happy...
Read moreWe came to Biriyani Kabob House because our go-to Indian restaurant was closed, honestly, this is one of the best Desi restaurants I have been to in LA, and I think this might become my go-to when I'm craving desi food :)
We came in as a large party of eight and the people there were so nice and so accomodating for us despite how overwhelming we must have been. The uncle there gave us mango lassi for free, which was honestly so bomb and so delicious.
We ended up ordering a large variety of dishes, but the chicken and lamb biriyani were obviously the best dishes out of the group. The meat was so good (I'm not usually a meat person, but even I was fully enjoying this) and was literally falling off the bone so easily. I would also recommend getting the channa masala, malai kofta, and the karahi fish curries, but even then, everything that we ordered was good!! For dessert we got kheer and gulab jamun. I keep repeating myself, but as an Indian (esp Hyderabadi lol) person myself, all of the food was genuinely so good. At the end, I was given an additional free cup of chai, which ended up also being one of the best cups of chai that I've had in the US.
Overall, would 110% recommend for the food and for the people. Will definitely be returning :)...
Read moreHad the pleasure to visit earlier today for an UBEREATS order
This location used to be a Pizza restaurant (pieology I believe 🤔)
I walked in from the entrance closest to RESEDA. I note this because I had a complications retrieving the order due to serving tables aligned a walkway of some sort…
Either way I wasn’t bothered by this because my attention was floating all over I noticed employees laughing, enjoying themselves I was smelling all sorts of spices and herbs I noticed a few customers eating already and enjoying their meals (mind you, this restaurant hadn’t been open for even an hour!)
Long story short, I felt welcomed upon entrance
I told one of the employees (or manager even) how lovely it smelled inside with a smile on my face. He smiled too,
menacingly
I then asked him if the food tastes as good as it smells inside. He nodded with a smile on his face
I thanked them with a smile then exited from where I should have entered from (seeing the door/entrance furthest from RESEDA already propped open at this time of day)
SMH
Unsure if I’ll visit again but I might possibly order...
