We reached out to domi earlier this year to see if they were available to make our wedding cake and were SO lucky that no one else had booked them on the day of our wedding - they currently only make cakes for one wedding a day!
After our initial inquiry, we scheduled a cake tasting with Evelyn, one of the co-founders of domi. She prepared a variety of flavored ganaches paired with white vanilla and dark cocoa cakes. Their cakes are not too sweet (the ultimate Asian compliment for desserts) and the flavors were unique and delicious. It was by far one of my favorite parts of the entire wedding planning process. The flavors that stood out to us after the tasting were the milk and honey, hojicha, and genmaicha ganaches.
When it came time to select our flavors for the cake, we asked Evelyn to see if she could incorporate a mango flavor with the milk and honey ganache that we loved from the tasting. She kindly offered to create a couple of mango ganache variations for us to try at no additional cost. We ended up selecting three flavors for our wedding day: white vanilla cake with hojicha ganache, white vanilla cake with mango ganache, and dark cocoa cake with genmaicha ganache. What we appreciated the most about the process was how flexible and creative Evelyn was in making sure we were satisfied with our flavor selections. She will truly go out of her way to create the perfect cake for you.
Our cake was stunning on the day of and many of our guests noted that it was the best wedding cake they had ever had. We were so lucky to be able to collaborate with domi and highly recommend them if you are looking for a unique and, most importantly, delicious...
Read moreI am personally offended that Domi isn't getting the recognition it should, so here's my two cents:
Birthday Cake this year: I received four cakes from family and friends this year, and the Judy Cake (Hojicha Mousse and Vanilla Cake BUT you can customize it to your favorite flavors) absolutely knocked it out of the park. Taste: 100/10 Loved the light and nutty hojicha mousse, the fluffiest vanilla cake and the crunchy disk on the bottom which makes it impossible for you to get sick of this cake. Presentation: 100/10 (I mean, have you seen pictures of their mousse cakes?) Like DROP dead GORGEOUS. Let me tell you folks, I have years of pastry experience and they've absolutely GOT it.
Smorgasburg LA one sunday for AAPI hertiage month: Black Sesame Caramel Panna Cotta: 100/10 not too heavy, very refreshing. My friends and I all agreed that this was one very DANGEROUSLY delicious and decadent dessert, probably our favorite from all the foods we've tried that day.

Read moreOrdering the cake boxes online, my bad that I didn’t read the description properly before and instead just looking at the picture. Having said that, my friend and I thought it’s quite sizable and probably suitable to be shared for two. Maybe because we’re considering it’s also $13 a box.
When picking up and seeing it, we’re quite surprised it’s a 3inch square cake LOL. I tried the Hongkong Tearamisu, which was their invention of Yuan and Yang in a cake. If you’re familiar with the term, you knew it’s a combo of milk tea and coffee. In this version, it’s a chocolate sponge cake with milk tea mousse and coffee panna cotta. Loved the moist texture especially if you enjoyed it fresh, complemented with crunchiness from the bottom layer of white chocolate crunch. It’s also distinctive as this flavors pairing was kinda...
