Be aware that the workers at this place do not follow basic hygiene guidelines!
I went there this morning. When I got there no one was on the counter but I could hear how something was being scrubbed and cleaned (which I assume was the floors) on the back of the store, which is not visible to the customers because there is a wall that divides the front and the back. One of the worker ladies came from the back to the front and took my order. I ordered a omelette bagel and an omelette croissant which she started making right away but I notice that she did not change her gloves to prepare my food. I tried to just ignore it, giving the benefit of the doubt that she may not be dealing with cleaning but other stuff, like preparing food on the back prior to taking my order. But then, other customers started to arrive to the store and two more ladies came from the back to attend and take those other customers orders. The other two ladies were not wearing gloves, neither at any moment wash their hands before making other peopleās orders. Thatās when it became clear to me that non of them wash their hands prior to manipulating food and serving the customers. Even when I paid, the same lady that made my order, who was wearing gloves took my payment and with the same gloves she was processing the my credit card touching the machine and my dirty card. I stayed looking at the donuts on display just to see if she was going to do the same with the next customer and I saw she did not bother to change her gloves to take and make the order from the person that was behind me next in line. I worked in the service industry for 15 years and this kind of things are hard for me...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEarlās donuts is horrible. The lady working there is a sweetheart but the old man is a complete mean jerk. If you walk in you will often see him sweeping and mopping the floors while all the display cases are open collecting dust and dirt on the donuts. He doesnāt wear gloves and just reaches in and grabs the donuts and then in a demanding voice tells you how much you owe him. The quality of the donuts is the lowest grade possible. This place years ago was great but since the new owners bought it they use the absolute cheapest ingredients and they are rarely fresh. Plus the taste awful. On top of it, I went to buy a lottery ticket today and I had 5 pennies along with some quarters. He boasted to me that he doesnāt take pennies, pennies are garbage, he just throws away pennies, and he is too rich to need pennies. If I brought him a handful of pennies I might understand someone asking if I had another method of payment, but I had 5 pennies. Stay away from this awful place, horrible business, terrible tasting and the lowest quality donuts and drinks. It is filthy and disgusting. I feel sorry for the lady because she always smiles and waves hello and she has to be married to that disgusting person that acts like a little boy. If you want good donuts and you peasant people and service, go to the donut shop next to 7-11 on Devonshire...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited here a few days ago and was given the wrong donuts than what I had asked for. Today I visited here again to place a new order and spoke to the same spanish lady that gave me the wrong donuts the other day and advised her of what happened. Immediately, she went on the defensive and said it wasn't her that did it. I explained to her it wasn't a big deal, but to please not tell me it wasn't her because I remember her well. Regardless, what bothers me most is she never apologized once, nor even offered to replace the few donuts she made the mistake with. I spend about $500+ per month here for all the emoloyees at my corporation, but will no longer do so and buy them elsewhere. This is not how you treat customers and I suggest management/ownership teach their employees what good customer service / satisfaction is, otherwise they will continue to lose customers as they did with me. Furthermore, I tried calling store to speak to a manager or owner and both were nowhere...
