I've been there a couple of times, my husband goes a little bit often because it's close to his job and there aren't many other options. First of all, the line to order food is crazy. Because you make a line, you choose your food and then there is only ONE cashier to check out, the problem comes when you realize that the cashier is also helping serve food, therefore if she's busy serving other customers' food, she can't take care of the cashier machine, so you will find yourself stuck in a line where other hungry customers are waiting as well for someone to come to their senses and fix this and finally having someone ONLY to take care of the money. If the management considers its other girls unfitted for the cashier position, then assign ONE girl specifically for it. Because the line gets so long. Also, their food is not only tasteless but expensive, it's ridiculous! Besides the fact that all the plates come with rice and beans on the side, even if you order "beans soup", it comes with rice and beans, if you ask to change the rice and beans for some lettuce, they say they can't do it and they end up throwing some lettuce leaves for $2+. Let alone that nobody there knows what manners are. All of them, all of them are rude. Sorry management/owner, here's a Latina who tried to give you business but you're failing on training them real basic customer...
Read moreA bit intimidating. I went in on a Saturday morning on my way to Wilshire Country Club. I was the only non Spanish speaking person in the place, and it was PACKED. I knew I had to eat there seeing how many people were going in and out. It's in a rough part of town, so parking is suspect. I really enjoyed my guatemalen breakfast, which is 2 eggs any style, black beans, a runny sour cream, and a bread roll which can best be described as a very average bakery roll. For some reason, my bread was cold. The black beans were more like runny soup. Very tasty. I actually prefer it like this. Almost emulsified. I also selected a combo platter from their prepared deli section. I got the beef which appeared to be chunks of lean beef sauteed or boiled in a tomato based sauce. Very delicious. I also got 2 sausages, not sure what was in it. It was not as snappy and fatty as American sausage. This looked like it had rice in it. Very flavorful, also excellent. All in all, it cost me less than $20 for 2 meals and a coffee. It would cost more than that for a pastrami on rye at Langer's. I need to go back and try the other items. ...
Read moreVisiting from Georgia, and had the worst experience food wise. The Chiles rellenos are not poblano peppers, actually they used bell pepper ( half of it) and very small portion, very expensive. The rellenitos very stale, the bread is old and the atole is loaded in sugar with no flavor. I’m very disappointed with the service, the food and the ordinary lady whose make up is very notorious, wanted to sell everything possible, forks, bags, etc. I also got tamales to go, my tamales got all smudged because they used to put them in a box, now they just toss them in a bag one on top of the other. It’s the very last time I go to this place, and never recommend it. Cheap service, cheap food and greatly in disappointment. I honestly do not recommend this place at all. The neighborhood is no good, no parking, trash and dirty and to used the restroom in the bakery you...
