I love this place. the bread is delicious, from baguette to boule. it's crusty on the outside and tender and fluffy inside. absolutely perfect for dipping in soups and shakshukas and all sorts. sometimes I buy a baguette and eat it with sharp cheese. yum! without hyperbole they make the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever had everyone who works there is super friendly and stops to chat and say hi. in a busy and sometimes unfriendly place like a city, this is appreciated. they are warm and welcoming every single time.

I used to bake my own bread, but what they can make here is so much better than what I can achieve. Also I love to support a small local business and they absolutely deserve bread loyalty. I can walk here from my house and it feels lovely on a weekend to saunter down and return with a loaf to pair with a...

I’m not sure why you would ever open up a bakery at 8 am but not have half of your menu items available. It’s not a one time thing but every time I show up at 8, they say the croissants are baking and aren’t ready until 8:40 or so. Guess that’s why the lines that used to form at 8 are no longer there but maybe try opening up later or start baking earlier???

I also don’t like getting ā€œswindledā€ with the old bait and switch—-maybe cause I don’t speak the language—but I asked and paid for a full baguette but received the smaller and less expensive ā€œminiā€ baguette.

Can’t speak to the quality of the pastries because there are never any ready at open but bread was decent. Not overcharge me double decent but ok. Maybe it’s for the local community only but...

Wow. 10 Stars! Best Bread and Croissants i've had in the U.S. Do not be confused by the very unassuming, basic little storefront. It is easy to miss this place, there is little signage, and the store is tiny. But OMG, this is REAL bread. One slice and you will ask yourself what you have been eating all your life (unless you have been lucky enough to visit some artisan bakeries in Paris). The whole wheat sourdough is AMAZINGLY GOOD---dense, flavorful texture inside, leathery crust outside. This makes the stuff they sell at even higher end stores like Bristol Farms taste like cardboard. And try the chocolate croissant--hands down the best one I've had outside of Paris. Period. This place may be the best kept foodie...

The wife found this place by accident after seeing people line outside this nondescript storefront on her way to the Westwood area. I'm glad she did. They have the best croissants I've had so far in LA. We have tried the plain croissant and the cheese croissant and both has been fantastic. Crispy outside, multilayered, and soft inside. Perfect texture in my opinion. The cheese in the cheese croissant was very good quality too - no weird fat smell. We also got a slice of the banana bread which I thought was very well made as well. Not too sweet, soft inside with plenty of walnuts. Highly recommend this bakery.

If you haven’t tried Sangak( Persian flat bread aka the best bread in the world) this is for you. Without a doubt the best Sangak in SoCal and closest tasting Sangak to what you can get in Iran. The sangaks sell out fast, I called them to reserve some for myself and they were so kind to keep some for me and stayed after the closing time for me to arrive and pick it up. Kind, skilled and hardworking people who put passion into their craft. Go get yourself some fresh Sangak and eat it with some feta and fresh vegetables. In the end it’s about finding joy in little things in life.

Stopped by House of Bread in Westwood, a small but neat little bakery owned by a Persian woman. Tried their country sourdough, and overall, it was a good loaf. The crust had a nice crunch, and the aroma was spot on—earthy and inviting. The crumb, however, was a bit denser than expected, lacking the usual airy texture, and it leaned more on the chewy side. Still, the flavor was enjoyable, and it’s clear they use quality ingredients. One suggestion for the owner: consider adding a bread slicer. It would make it much more convenient for customers who prefer pre-sliced loaves
