I love this place. the bread is delicious, from baguette to boule. it's crusty on the outside and tender and fluffy inside. absolutely perfect for dipping in soups and shakshukas and all sorts. sometimes I buy a baguette and eat it with sharp cheese. yum! without hyperbole they make the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever had everyone who works there is super friendly and stops to chat and say hi. in a busy and sometimes unfriendly place like a city, this is appreciated. they are warm and welcoming every single time.
I used to bake my own bread, but what they can make here is so much better than what I can achieve. Also I love to support a small local business and they absolutely deserve bread loyalty. I can walk here from my house and it feels lovely on a weekend to saunter down and return with a loaf to pair with a...
Read moreIâm not sure why you would ever open up a bakery at 8 am but not have half of your menu items available. Itâs not a one time thing but every time I show up at 8, they say the croissants are baking and arenât ready until 8:40 or so. Guess thatâs why the lines that used to form at 8 are no longer there but maybe try opening up later or start baking earlier???
I also donât like getting âswindledâ with the old bait and switchâ-maybe cause I donât speak the languageâbut I asked and paid for a full baguette but received the smaller and less expensive âminiâ baguette.
Canât speak to the quality of the pastries because there are never any ready at open but bread was decent. Not overcharge me double decent but ok. Maybe itâs for the local community only but...

It is easy to miss this place, there is little signage, and the store is tiny. But OMG, this is REAL bread. One slice and you will ask yourself what you have been eating all your life (unless you have been lucky enough to visit some artisan bakeries in Paris). The whole wheat sourdough is AMAZINGLY GOOD---dense, flavorful texture inside, leathery crust outside. This makes the stuff they sell at even higher end stores like Bristol Farms taste like cardboard. And try the chocolate croissant--hands down the best one I've had outside of Paris. Period. This place may be the best kept foodie...
