Today, I experienced what I believe to be outright racism, discrimination, and shocking disrespect toward an African American customer.
I walked into this KFC to pick up my mobile order. While waiting, I noticed a gentleman walk in before me with his child. They appeared to be ordering two combo meals, but it seemed they were unsure of what exactly was included in the meals. Instead of assisting them with professionalism or courtesy, the cashier spoke to them with condescension and irritation as if answering their questions was an inconvenience.
When the gentleman asked what the meal came with, the cashier replied with a tone that screamed, “Are you stupid?” Her demeanor was not one of helpfulness but of disdain speaking to this grown man as if he were a foolish child, humiliating him in front of his kid and everyone present.
Finally, I stepped in. I asked to speak to a manager. There was no manager on duty, but a woman “in charge” came over. I explained that I had been waiting for my order and, in the meantime, had witnessed her cashier treat this customer in a completely unacceptable manner. I reminded her that if a customer doesn’t know what comes in a combo, it is their responsibility to explain not belittle.
Instead of addressing the situation, she walked away without action. I asked again to speak to her when the second cashier called her back. She told the cashier to inform me she was “busy.” I persisted, telling her she had walked away without resolving anything, and that her cashier was still being openly rude.
Her response? “It’s none of your business” and “I don’t hear her being disrespectful.” Things escalated from there. I was then told, out of nowhere, that if I wasn’t happy with my order, I could return it even though my order had no issue whatsoever.
Then, in a shocking and deeply offensive turn, she called over someone I believe was the cook, who looked at me and said: “You’re probably on drugs, you need to leave.”
I left that KFC not only appalled at the treatment I witnessed toward the other customer, but horrified by the disrespect and baseless personal attacks directed at me simply for standing up against mistreatment. So i did .arrived there and wanted to claim.my order and with a suprised gesture the crew askedmy name and yomdme i have to wait 5mins for my order and i fine im willing to wait .and 5 mins passed came back to the the drive truand i was informed by crew that thez run out chicken and i have to wait 15 mins more for my order ( now total 20 min ) i drove away and waited agian . Nearby i parked my car near the drive where i see that kfc people serving food as usual.so the 15 mins passed they followed up my order and still it was not ready. My option is to wait or refund my order .to skip the painful process of a refund i was obliged to wait . So i waited and waited. And after exactly 1h and 21 mins i was able to get my order. Without any apologies or explanation from the crew . I've worked in the hospitality business all my life and ive never seen a restaurant treat their customers as bad as this one . I see that this particular branch is lacking in management because there was no manager nor a person that directs the kfc crew to do well in their work everyone does whatever they want to do chit chatting and stuff not minding that people are waiting to be served .shout out to kfc top management with all due respect ou must take action on this . When a COLD chicken sandwich was brought to their attention they stated “that’s the hottest it gets” when asked for more sauce as there barely any sauce to cover the entire bun it was literally the size of a dime compared to the bun, we were told “we are not allowed to do that/ the sauce already comes as is” what type of service is this? Regarding the cold sandwich this is the second experience under the same manager OSCAR who clearly does not have a care for the world for KFC customers. There was no line today so why the terrible food quality? I will definitely be reporting this to corporate as I do have a voice recording of whoever answered the phone responding to my request of store number regarding my husbands complaint about the cold sandwich not being fixed & her stating “yes”...
