La Estrella — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I am a local real estate agent in this area. I have lived here since 2002 and I have always taken my family to restaurants for dinner. Of all the restaurants that I have been to so far this the one with better seasing, great taste and the place to go. I have come here three time WITH MY ENTIRE FAMILY, except for todays and had menudo, costillas, lengua ranchera and a taste of mole which I love. The menudo was perfect by my family standards and my sister she is a tremendous cook and just wow. The costillas were a bit spicy but I am Mexican and I love spicy food but this time they were just right and delicious. The lengua ranchera was like from other world and just ready to dive into. I have to say that this place has some of the most delicious tacos. The tortillas seem to be hand made and its a pretty good portion. The Asada meat is very delicious and doesn't feel like it has a lot of condiments. The sopes are very good and with the size can fill you up pretty quick. The downside is that the service is pretty slow and the servers don't come to your table often. There's also some moody servers which discourage you from ordering more. The Hole in The Wall of Boyle Heights. Don't expect top of the line service nor a stellar building with view of the street but you will find great and abundant food at an amazing cost. The Tacos are filled with meat and they're bigger than most. The breakfast has a delicious, thick and red menudo and huevo rancheros that will alleviate any hangover. Expect to wait on Sunday mornings after church but better than those long lines in the trendy...
