The food is good. The food is the only thing that's good. They're so rude and now that I see I'm not the only one overcharged, I can only assume it's purposeful. Once, I had $10.74 of their seasoned chicken legmeat. Then, I got 4 plantains, a 75 cent koolaid drink, a reduced-price VERY ripe mango and a little plastic cup of their rice pudding. The cashier told me my total way $47. I pulled the chicken away and asked, "How are these 4 items $37?" She kept telling me it was $47 altogether and I kept trying to explain how it wasn't possible for 4 plantains and a rice pudding to be that much as 10 for chicken and 75 koolaid and 50 cent mango. Another came up and they talked on and on in Spanish. Finally I said I only want the chicken. Then it occurred to me to buy each item separately. So I wound up getting everything.....for a grand total of $18 and change. I then asked why buying everything separately was 30 bucks cheaper. They were just rude. I loved the time they were talking about me back and forth in front of customers. The only thing I understood was the looks they were giving me and the word WETA. They laughed and laughed. Oh well, such is life. Whoever owns it must be ok with the horribly rude service they give. And I agree, they spend a lot of time chatting and laughing and keeping...
Read moreFood is ok but expensive....the problem is the customer service ....poor service on the register the waitress and even the cooker.... I came in and i couldn't find a menu in the wall so i start looking at the screen to see what they sell...the waitress look at me and never offer a menu....i have to wait for the screen to change so i can look for a few plates....then i went to order to the counter...boy $60 for 3 meals with a soda...surely i wasn't expecting that...but anyways While i was waitin some guy came to the store saying it's the first time he's gonna try Oaxacan food and the cooker was eatin in the table (probably his lunch time) the guy ask him what's the best oaxacan food..? And the guy says a burrito.... Then he turn the head looking at the girl ckeaning the tables and start laughing she was laughing too... I think it's very disrespectful for them to do this to a customer that doesn't know what to order in a traditional restaurant....honestly i won't ever come back to this...
Read moreI don't know why there isn't more positive reviews related to the restaurant dining. This place has really delicious food, such as tamales, chilaquiles, Alambres (fajitas), Tlayudas and Cesinas. Sometimes their portions can be a bit overwhelming, so I suggest sharing a dish with another person (would remove half a star if I could). Their black coffee is very delicious, no need to add milk, thanks to the sweetness of sugar and cinnamon that gives it a nice flavor, and it's not strong at all. Expect crowds on weekend mornings, so be patient.
Aside from the restaurant, they have a bakery available to buy bread on the go or for the family. I never buy groceries here, but I appreciate their efforts to make it a one-stop shop.
Give this place a shot, and I guarantee that you'll not be disappointed...
