I am so happy and thankful that I found ALBERTO who owns and operates "Addison Hybrid Battery Repair" near downtown Los Angeles. Alberto's price for a refurbished Prius battery is the LOWEST by far compared to all other competing shops in LA County. And Alberto's careful installation work is the BEST by far. Among ALL the Prius battery replacement shops operating in LA County, Alberto's shop ("Addison Hybrid Battery Repair") is the ONLY shop with a perfect 5-Star rating on GOOGLE REVIEWS. Alberto's shop has also received by far the highest AMOUNT of Google Reviews (750 customer reviews, all give Alberto a perfect 5-Stars). Recently, my 2010 Prius had its entire dashboard light up and I learned the hybrid battery needed to be replaced. The Toyota dealers in LA County all wanted to charge me about $6,000 for a refurbished hybrid battery. Hahaha $6,000 is way more than my 2010 Prius is worth ! Instead, Alberto only charged me about $1,400 (out the door) for a refurbished battery. Alberto very carefully and perfectly installed that battery 2 weeks ago, and my Prius has been running great ever since ! Before I decided to go to Alberto at "Addison Hybrid Battery Repair", I spent a week researching OTHER battery shops, and I also researched Alberto's shop. I was very happy that Alberto and his shop have an actual physical address location in Los Angeles, and Alberto is there 6 days a week, and he's always ready to help. I drove to Alberto's shop and checked-out his business. Don't let the small size of Alberto's shop fool you - - he and his wife operate the small shop and they're both very kind, honest and reliable, and they want to provide each customer great service. Most of the OTHER Prius battery replacement businesses operating in LA County seem very sketchy to me, because these OTHER businesses only have websites with NO PHYSICAL LOCATION. On their websites these "Ghost" businesses say they will send a guy in a truck to your house address to replace your hybrid battery, but they DO NOT list their own business address. Yikes ! These OTHER "Ghost" shops require you to send an email or leave a message on their phone - - many of the "Ghost" shops did not promptly return my calls. A few of these "Ghost" shops returned my call, but they all charge prices ranging from $1,700 to $3,000 for a refurbished battery. Alberto charges much less: $1,300 to $1,800 for a Prius refurbished battery depending on the year of your Prius, and depending on the cost that Alberto needs to pay to obtain batteries. In contrast, if I paid $2,000 to any of the "Ghost" shops, I was afraid that if my Prius later had a battery problem, these "Ghost" shops could just disappear and rip me off for $2,000. In comparison, I confirmed that Alberto is at his shop near downtown Los Angeles 6 days a week, and he's always ready to help. In one of the 750 separate Google Reviews for "Addison Hybrid Battery", a customer says that Alberto was amazing and excellent because Alberto replaced the battery on the customer's Prius on Christmas Eve ! Two weeks ago, when I met with Alberto to get my Prius battery replaced, I watched how he performed. Every step of the process was performed by Alberto in an excellent, highly skilled, and careful manner, and he was always checking to make sure his work was perfect. I gave him a big tip, because his price is the lowest in L.A., but he operates like a kind, very skilled and trusted doctor, and I would have happily paid more. This man is amazing!! He did it incredibly fast and even showed me things that Toyota’s official mechanics never told me about. Yesterday all my engine lights came on and I needed to go to the Toyota parts and services mechanics. Hours later, I was told that the hybrid battery needed to be repaired and was going to cost me 3,780. This is my first car and I really felt like the time had come where I needed to move on from her because there was no way I could afford that. I looked online and found this repair shop that does it for super affordable prices! After he finishes, he shows me that the 12V battery was actually leaking acid and was staining everything underneath it! This was something Toyota NEVER told me about in the first visit (months ago) NOR this visit (today, 9/3/25). He replaced my air filter that was filthy as well as the 12V battery all at once, not even coming close to half the price of what Toyota wanted to charge me. This young man is a great mechanic & technician, a professional at his job, diagnosing my problem and fixing it same day in just a few minutes, so quick I was in disbelief and had my doubts at first. I had been to a few other so-called hybrid “professionals” in which they would simply put a bandaid on the problem instead of fixing it entirely and would keep my car for days. sadly thousands of dollars later and wasted time I found ‘Addison Hybrid Batteries’. and now it’s been about a year and a half with about 5,500 miles since my repair.
