As a first time, I expected more from this small hostel. It was not what it advertised online. Our flight got delayed and we arrived after midnight the manager had us waiting outside the property for 40 minutes as she had given our bed to someone else and my partner had to share 1 bunk bed.
I tried to contact the property to ask them when checking time was as it was stated on the booking.
She asked to see the booking confirmation and kept reiterating that the booking said 1 booking for 1 adult but it said 1 booking for 2 adults. There was an issue with that.
There was a hole in the wall of the bathroom. I had to wait 2 to 3 hours to use the bathroom as it was the only one with a shower in the building of 20 people. The carpets were stained and torn. Every time someone used the shower, it looked like a swimming pool session water all over the floor, and mould on the walls my my partner has asthma we have to be careful about staying in places with mould.
A man was sleeping in the same room as us and he was very hostile towards me and my partner and was trying to dictate to us where could sleep we were having a conversation to ourselves in the morning and told us to take our conversation downstairs even though he was up and and in and out of the bedroom. I did not feel safe or comfortable, especially as a tourist from England coming to the USA for the first time in years and hearing all sorts of what happened in the USA. So I decided that me and my partner to go somewhere else.
I asked, the manager if we could get a refund and go somewhere else she said I can give you a refund if you want and then a minute later changed her mind and said "Oh you have to go through the 3rd party The company you booked".
Furthermore, the property's wifi was down so I could not use my phone as I had no data, and then when we decided to leave the manager told us how the WiFi was up and running, but it was a little too late for that as we were now leaving sweetheart.
I understand this place is also a shelter for people who are on low income and can't afford motels, hotels or tourists who want cheap stays. However I urge you not to book this hostel if you want to experience these issues, you're better off staying somewhere where you get your privacy, bathroom and bedroom for more money.
As a company, you have the money to renovate the place resolve issues between customers and give customers warnings especially when they're threatening and hostile to other customers that's how you lose...

stayed in this place for 13 nights, because I had no choice since I was booking last minute and I was on budget. No hand soap in the bathroom No toilet paper in the bathroom No wall plugs on top benk, I needed to buy a cable to be able to charge my phone and my other devices. The smoke alarm was biping, I asked them many times to change the battery, but no one cared. There is a lady in the kitchen working as costumer service, so if you want to use the kitchen, then you need to tolerate the background noise and her comments. The rooms are terribly crowded and almost no space to breathe The equipment in the kitchen were extremely limited. The bathroom in the room, you clean it yourself. There is no office or reception to go to if any problem. (Zero professionality) Save best for the last they say so here we go: The manager, Dylan sounded nice at first but then he asked me if I want to sleep with him while he was checking me in (I couldn’t believe what I was hearing) so when i rejected him, he just treated me very terrible. He yelled at me many times in different occasions for no reason. Once middel of the night barged in to my room. I asked for a refund to move out, but they ignored my requests. So i had no choice but to stay and I tried to avoid him at all costs during my staying. So ladies stay safe out there. Good parts: very quiet area Nice people staying (not all of them though, many people basicslly live there). Cleaning lady nice and helpful If you want to use public transport it’s good connections to everywhere. (Night time might be less available). So if you have money, don’t save it; book a better place....
Read moreAfter finishing my trip for the day and returning to the hostel, I found that my bag was gone. One of my female roommates told me she saw someone take the bag, but that person claimed it belonged to a friend and walked out with it.
I reported this immediately to the manager and staff, but they simply said, “There’s nothing we can do,” and refused to take any responsibility. This did not happen outside the property, nor did I misplace my belongings. Someone illegally entered the hostel, which is protected by a door passcode, and took my backpack. This is clearly theft and a criminal act, and the hostel should take appropriate responsibility and offer compensation.
However, the hostel continues to ignore the situation. I have filed a report with the U.S. police and contacted the booking platform’s customer service, but there’s little else I can do on my own.
Honestly, I could have tolerated the loss of my belongings to some extent. But what I cannot accept is the hostel’s irresponsible and indifferent attitude toward the situation. To make matters worse, the hostel does not have even basic CCTV, and they appear to be trying to brush the incident aside.
On top of that, the hostel does nothing to stop illegal tattooing being done by guests. In the 4-bed Room 7, where I stayed, one of the guests was performing tattoos inside the bathroom. This disrupted our sleep and clearly hides criminal activity taking place inside a business establishment. It was disturbing and unacceptable.
