Really good tasting Mexican-style food dishes. They have a some of their own recipes that are super-delicious. If you want beef, try their "shredded beef", If chicken is your choice, their "grilled chicken" dishes are best. 2 of my favorites. Seafood is always a bit more expensive, but try their Campachana Appetizer Platter to share with a group. (It has Campachana seafood ingredients, but cooked as their own special recipe. My personal favorite of this dish is all the seafood ingredients, each sautéed to perfection using garlic-infused oil. & delicious! My brother , from Portland, Oregon enjoys quality restaurant food. I ordered this & tried it on him. He commented to the waiter that it was the best tasting restaurant food dish that he'd had in at least 10 years. They do this dish to perfection!
One caveat on this dish: if the season ocean waters are warm, then the restaurant can only legally purchase oysters that have been pasturized (partially pre-cooked). If the oysters are pasturized, it spoils their taste -really bad! (don't get the oysters if they've been pasturized: ONLY in THAT season, have them leave out the oysters and substitute more of one of the other ingredients). If it's been cooler and the small oysters are NOT pasturized, DO get them - broiled on the half-shell with garlic oil (Yum!)
Many of their delicious sauces are made in-house. Their pico-de-gallo is a treat, assembled with fresh ingredients when you order it. Order this when they first seat you & they'll bring it out to enjoy with their house-fried table chips. Nothing mushy or blah about this Pico-de-gallo; it is deliciously fresh at Laura's. I love this treasured little hole-in-the-wall place. It's been around & popular for years - and for good reason: delicious food ! AND at...
Read moreI ordered for pick up through a third party. I used to come here alot years ago, it was delicious! It was very generous portions! And best of all the prices were good! They used to have a lunch deal with a wet burrito and drink for about $7.50! Awesome times. But now in 2023 prices are so high all over the place! So I got the wet burrito which is my favorite and I get it with lengua, has a small salad and comes with chips and salsa! It was about $14. It was really good the flavor was still there in the sauce they put on top of the burrito! It was just smaller than they used to make it and less meat and stuff inside just a lot of tortilla. I guess thats what you get nowadays. I will probably still order again sometime and yes I would recommend to try it because like I said the flavor is still there and its delicious I love the sauce they put on the wet burrito! My son had an asada torta with rice and beans. Also good 👍 the meat is always tender when we order from lauras and thats a must! The rice is ok and the beans are good. They always give chips and salsa on side even when you dine in and the chips are so addictive! They have the perfect crunch not too hard so that they hurt your teeth and not soggy or chewy. The salsa is also very tasty! I like the green salsa on my burrito and red one for my chips! Make sure you come and give lauras a try! This place has been here in the same spot for...
Read moreSooo delicious! I went for the first time last Sunday while visiting my bestie who lives literally down the street from here. I had been craving taquitos and I was not disappointed. They were so good I literally cleaned the plate! Not a speck of rice or beans left either. I wanted the sopa de Albondigas to take home for my Mom but they ran out...I know why since my taquitos came with either soup or salad. Our waiter - the owner's son - suggested the Caldo de Rez instead! Mom and I split it for dinner; she loved it! Next time I'm getting 2 orders - one for Mom and one for me, plus an order of taquitos! Muy delicioso! I can't wait to go back because there's NOTHING like this in Glendale plus Vallarta Market in the same plaza, 2 birds with one stone! Muchas gracias for making this little Filipina who grew up in Echo Park very Happy!...
