I love the pupusas here. They are HUGE. Yes they are pricey but these have so much food inside of them and they are not greasy which is the best part. I am a chicharrón lover and the way their chicharrón in the pupusas is prepared is phenomenal. They don’t give you some weird mush. The ingredients are fresh and tasty. Best pupusas I’ve had so far since moving to the valley. I have gone in person and also ordered them on Doordash they are Bomb! I was reading the comments on the soups and I can’t wait to try them all to see if they are like delish like I’ve read. I only order pupusas from this place now. The pupusas de chicharrón con queso don’t disappoint. The horchata is made from straight up morro seed which is very different then how the Mexican horchata is made from rice and nuts. I love them both but this place keeps it authentic Salvadoran which is nice. When I went in person had a Salvadorian breakfast, with eggs, frijoles fritos, queso fresco and bread super delicious reminded me of my mom’s cooking when she would make me breakfast. I can’t speak too much on the customer service bc when I was there to dine in I didn’t have too much interaction. They came to the table to check in on us 3-4 times and left my cousin and I to have our conversation fully and that’s what I like. I don’t like them Checking in so frequent that I’m stopping my conversation so I would say on the service I have...
Read moreOh my! After going there for many years to pick up pupusas, today, December 13, 2024, Metapán food failed! Ordered 12 pupusas for family and friends. Paid $58.54 NOT CHEAP for bad pupusas!!!
I’ve been coming to Metapan for a about 14 yrs. the ambient is always pleasant. Food is delicious as always, la mariscada en crema is delicious, the taste is just as in El Salvador . My favorite plates are yuca frita con chicharron, pollo en crema, sopa de res . The pupusas de arroz are less oily than other restaurants, which for me it’s a plus. Also the pupusas are never on sale compared to other restaurants but the taste is reasonable. Service could be friendlier. I came in today with my family and one of the children in my party dropped a drink. The server could have offered another drink for replacement. I had to request it minutes later. If anything I probably paid for both drinks. Anyways I will be coming to this place again because of love the taste of their plates. Also another favorite of mine is buying some of the salvadorian snacks and pastries they have, they have their own line of coffee “Metapan cafe” which is pretty good, the cemita Alta is filled with pineapple filling which is more than the regular Central American bakery’s. My husbands favorite is the alemana pastry which they also have packaged. Metapan is one of the places my husbands siblings gather after a long week just to eat typical salvadorian food and enjoy...
