Monarca Pasta & Grill — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I ordered the pasta primavera and it was not what I was expecting at all. It was served with a weird orange sauce and had no flavor whatsoever. The noodles were rotini and the vegetables (mostly just brocolli w/ grated carrots) were cut too small to appreciate. I was expecting a marinara sauce flavored with garlic & herbs, plus a VARIETY of bite size, not grated, vegetables. This was a complete joke and for $10 they can kiss it. I should have known though because they are clearly not authentic as they serve Mexican and "Italian" food. Well, what can I say. I like this place. It is small. But the food compensates it all. Why? Because the dishes served here are phenomenal. The pastas are delicious. If you come here, you have many option in the menu, mainly Italian dishes but some Mexican plates too, for example: Pasta primavera, Pasta chicken fetuccini, Black shrimp plate, Florentina chicken pasta, Spaghetti shrimp pasta, Chicken ravioli... Grilled beef tacos, grilled chicken burrito, grilled hamburger, Carne asada plates etc etc etc. The place is very clean and the thing is that the staff and owners are really nice, they are very friendly. The prices are affordable, not pricey...

Ordered beef lasagna with pesto sauce over phone. Picked up, looked like two burritos. Hoping it would taste better than it looked. Got home to eat extremely disappointed!!!!!!! OLD ASS ground BEEF (hard & tuff), carrots, brocoli, and cheese with green sauce. What a waste of my $$$13.00, & my F-ing time. So pissed off. If I wanted veggies I would have got a salad from walmart. The sauce was the best part of the dish. Now I feel like I ate an OLD ass steak. Need to detox with Kale smoothie. Never again Monarca!!!
