If you are looking for a breakfast, brunch, or lunch spot, STOP HERE AND GIVE IT A TRY! The quirky atmosphere, the service, and the food ALL exceeded our expectations. My daughter got a waffle with Nutella. The waffle itself was TOP NOTCH, thick and fluffy but a little crispy on the outside, just like a waffle should be. I got fish a chips and to my surprise it was some of the BEST I've ever had. The fish fillets were THICK and perfectly moist and flakey. The batter was thin and fried perfectly crispy without being greasy. The fries were fresh cut style which I usually DO NOT like at all but they do something to these fries that makes them perfectly textured and fluffy in the inside but crunchy on the ourside and they somehow tasted seasoned even though there wasn't visible seasoning on the outside. The fish and chips also comes with a side salad as well that I wasn't looking forward to but it was a step above any side salad I've ever had at a diner with fresh GREEN lettuce, ripe tomatoes, cucumber, red onions, and micro greens. The service we received was so genuine and welcoming. Our toddler spilled a WHOLE water and the waitress joked with him while cleaning it up and made him feel so much better about it. We didn't go unattended to for a beat. They were so on top of all of our needs and as we left EVERY single employee wished us a good day and to enjoy the rest of our trip. I don't know HOW this place wasn't packed and doesn't have a 5 star rating, trust me, take the chance, and eat here! You won't be...

Over-priced food, the place is very dirty. Everything is better at Mel's Diner 5 minutes away. Location is the only reason this place has customers.

EDIT: Thanks for reaching out. Please go ahead and notify Google if you feel I am not being truthful. I have recipes from eating here, I have pictures that are geo-tagged with dates & location AND.............. I cycle past this place almost daily because I live in the canyon.

The best part is, Google already knows all of this information (I also have a google pixel phone)!!! The reason the place is closed is exactly because of the reasons I mentioned above, place was always dirty, overpriced, and the food was just ok.

I am just getting around to writing this review because I received a notification from Google to review this place since I have been here several times since the new year. I live up the street and once I read the place was closing down, I didn't think to myself: let me write something immediately. My initial reaction was: cool, hopefully the new restaurant is better and I'll want to walk here more often. It was Google that reminded me to share an opinion, this was my experience every time I ate here.

I'll check out the new place once it opens, no old reviews will be taken down. Only new reviews for the new place,...

What a perfect, post-beach day spot! I love coming to Will Rogers State Park/Beach. I go for a run, jump in the ocean, sit on the beach, and usually grab a bite before heading home. Today, I decided to do that last step at Patrick's Roadhouse, a place I've (unfortunately) passed up several times before, and man do I regret it. I walked right up and was immediately greeted and given my choice of seating. I ordered water, and an Arnold Palmer, which both arrived before I could get the menu open! I also received a basket of home-made fries/chips! I settled on the Salmon Mango salad and WOW was that one of the best, most well-prepared pieces of Salmon I've ever had! I finished up with a piece of their home-made apple cream pie, and though I couldn't finish it, it made me wish I had two stomachs! The decor is eclectic and random, but hey, its California baby! The view is great, with the ocean right there in front of you (in spite of the traffic), and the music rounded the ambiance out perfectly (it was NYC Frank Sinatra style..again, random but it fit)! I got away (including the tip) for a little over $30 and didn't hate myself or feel guilt or waddle away! I now know how I will be ending my usual beach day from now on, so meet me...

I was extremely impressed with Patrick's Roadhouse. Come for the fascinating and strange decor, but fall in love with the great service and tasty food. The "Poor Man's Getty" is a California Gem that I highly recommend. There's a reason why this place has been around for over 50 years. Check it out and go find out why. +Service - Excellent service all around. The hostess/waitress that helped us was great. She answered all our questions, made great suggestions for items to try, and made my girlfriend and I feel welcomed. +Food - Great tasting food and plenty of options for whatever you are craving to eat. Had an ginormous and incredible tasting burger with fries. My girlfriend had a New York steak and fries. We were both satisfied with our food order. +Atmosphere and decor - Cool and not like anything you have seen or been to before. Photos don't do this place justice, you need to check this place out in person.

Meh ... I really wanted to have a great experience here after my beach walk with my friend. We arrived at 9:30am and chose to sit outside (former sidewalk) . Service was -minus 1 star. Coffee is $6 for a regular black coffee. I ordered the Eggs Rancheros which arrived 30 minutes later and everything was cold. I didn't alert the staff because I didn't want to wait another 30 minutes. I was so hungry so I just ate it. My friend ordered an omelet, spinach and feta which was just okay. However my friend told me their burgers, fries and pies are good! If you want to sit on Arnold Schwarzenegger's chair, sit inside. His chair is called The Terminator Chair. I never want to come back here again. The quality of our breakfast was less than a Denny's. My Rancheros cost $20. My friend's omelet was $18. They have valet parking, but since we walked, I don't know the cost of the valet.
