I had a great time going to the Pineapple Hill Saloon & Grill in Sherman Oaks to watch the high stakes Vikings vs Lions football game. The bar is in a strip mall and has free parking. Once I entered inside, a host greeted me and offered me a place to stand near the huge TV screen. Due to the game, every other bar stool had already been taken. The football patrons gave the bar a family-friendly atmosphere. I immediately felt welcome. I decided to find a seat outside. Cutting through the lines of people, I made my way to the back entrance where a tent had been propped above a multitude of benches and additional TVs. The outside patio is very nicely decorated with fresh flowers and shrubs dotting the perimeter. I could imagine coming back for a casual lunch or dinner with friends. As soon as I sat down, my waitress introduced herself. She supplied my table with water until the rest of my friends arrived. We ordered a mixed bucket of Bud Light and Budweiser beer, mozzarella sticks, and Buffalo wings. By this time, the football game had already started, and the outside patio was packed. Even with the large number of patrons, I didn’t have to wait too long before our food and drinks were delivered to our table. It all tasted very good. My only complaint is that the food was a tad bit cold. I grabbed a free bucket of popcorn to watch the rest of the game. During one of the breaks, the bar hosted a raffle content. One patron won a Vikings hat and the other won a jersey. Unfortunately, the Vikings ended up losing (9-31), and the bar cleared out. Before I left, I ordered the bar’s famous flaming shot. For this drink, they gave me two glasses—a shot glass and a larger glass—full of beer, rum, and amaretto. They instructed me to light the surface of the shot glass, wait for it to cool, and then dump the entire shot glass into the larger glass so that I could chug the entire thing. The drink was smooth and delectable. I’d definitely order the flaming shot again. All in all, while my team lost, my experience for like...
Read moreI am updating my review. This is the 2nd time I've come here and made an order at the bar. And the bartender did not ring in my order so I'm left sitting there waiting for food that's never going to arrive. I don't think I can come here anymore. It's so frustrating and I'm trying not to make a review based on emotions, but I think I have to say that this isn't a place that provides good service.
I suppose if you want to keep asking about the status of your order to make sure it had been placed, then go ahead but it seems that this isn't a place that cares about customers.
Except Tony. He had always been amazing. But Bryan was the bartender that didn't place my order. And the other was a girl who calls everyone "sweetie' or "honey" or something like that.
Original post: I love coming here when I want to sit at the bar and order drinks and food. Today I ordered at 1:45pm but the bartender turned her interest towards regulars that came in after me. They ordered and recieved their food before I did. I had to reorder again at 2:15pm before she put my order in.
So now I conveniently missed that happy hour that ended at 2:30pm and before the 3:00pm happy hour started.
Could have been a mistake or it could have been intentional.
I have had several positive experiences here but today seemed odd.
Edit: I don't want to cause confusion so it was brought to my attention that it was a lunch special that lasted until 2:30pm and Happy Hour started at 3:00pm. Either way, the bartender waited 30 minutes before putting in my...
Read moreThe Qannon hang out of sheman oaks. Listen,, I get that the owner had a super tough time during lockdown. Ive been coming to this place for 20 years. I went the other night to have a drink with an old friend. We had a dog with us so we sat in the back. There was about 40 people having a meeting talking about "storming" a business without masks.. that laughable at best however, when the conversation switched to firearm training that when it got really strange. Low and behold we argued with about 10 people, they were yelling all sorts of nonsense. While I tried to engage in a proper discussion with one lady explaining supply chain shortages a young chap named Preston who was itching for trademarks around his eyes. The bar staff hates these groups that come in, never tip and feel like they own the place. I use to love to go in here. Oh how the little neighborhood dive bar with strong drinks and great prices hath fallen to the anti mask, anti vax, qannon nut jobs. The once mighty popcorn machine is packed away and as dark as...
