When we walked in, we received no greeting. I made eye contact with several of the employees, yet, they pretended not to see us. After about 10 minutes or so of awkwardly standing around at the entrance, a waitress motioned for us to have a seat. Ok, we are now sitting. 15 minutes later the waitress asks if we would like some drinks. We asked for 3 waters and one horchata, she brings us two waters and the horchata another 10 minutes later. She ran off before we could ask for the third so we waited yet again. When we finally got her attention, she said ok she'd get it. No apologies. Mind you, we watched her walk through the beverage area at least a couple dozen times while we were waiting. 10 minutes later, we had our third water but the other two were empty. She did not even try to refill them. We ordered our food finally, just a variety of 4 pupusas, because, you know, we're at a pupuseria. It took 40 minutes to arrive and they were mediocre at best. I have enjoyed many pupusas from all over, but these were nothing special. Don't even bother ordering the horchata either. It's disgusting and tastes just like the cheap powder mixes you can get at Vallarta that are super grainy and peanutty. Restaurante Salvadoreno was an absolute waste of time and money. I will never be back to try any of the other foods they offer due to the lack of service and friendliness here. And to top it all off, right before we finally got our long awaited food, the jukebox turned on at a ridiculous volume for lunchtime with only 3 families dining!...
Read moreThis place doesn't even deserve a star, horrible service. The waiter got our order for drinks and steps away for 10 minutes and came back with half of the drinks and asked again what we'd like to drink. And to top it off the waiter didn't even get our order right. We order ten pupusas and we only got 5 after a 40 minute wait. And still we had to wait another 20 minutes to receive the 2 orders of pastelitos de carné and sopa de res. Nearly 2 hours there and only got half the order of pupusas we originally wanted and for the waiter to have the nerve to be bothered by my look of frustration that she didn't bother to tell me she was placing my order on the table and dirtied my sweater. If you want to get your order wrong and wait a ridiculous amount of time then by all means come here. we placed our order in Spanish and she still managed to...
Read moreI have been going to this restaurant with my family for years and never had any problems until this past Saturday. My mom and I ordered pupas and a side of empanadas. Unfortunately we could tell the empanadas were spoiled since as soon as I cut one of the empanadas in half the milk filling smelled really bad. My guess is that the cooks either left the milk filling out for too long or the empanadas were old. I called the waitress and told her about the spoiled empanadas and she was so rude. She challenged me saying the empanadas were not bad so i asked her to please smell them since she would right away be able to tell the empanadas were no longer good and she should not be serving the dish to anyone at the restaurant so people would not get sick. She did not reply to my questions and just walked away. She then ignored me several times when I asked for the check and a to go box. My mom and I finally just got up and waited by the register. I asked her if she had charged me for the empanadas and in a very condescending way she said she had not since I "claimed" the empanadas were bad. Needless to say I will NEVER visit this establishment again and will make sure my family and friends know they sell spoiled food at this restaurant.
