This used to be my go to place for a lot of occasions not only eating out. I would also recommend this for producers that wanted to grab something on their way to work. Great, cozy meeting spot as well. I stopped ordering last year because I felt that food started to be inconsistent quality wise and was swimming in oil. Last week I had to grab something quick because I worked late the day before and I had my in-law over. The food was excellent, I forgot completely why I stopped ordering in the first place and I feel in love again with Rustic Spoon.
I couldn’t wait to order again for my husband to also have it warm and fresh. I wanted to order on Friday but I start work when the restaurant opens so I was super excited to have it on today.(finally it’s Monday).
Unfortunately the food wasn’t the same. The noodles, especially the Drunken ones were in a soup of oil, overcooked and mushy, didn’t feel fresh at all. Probably the noodles were previously cooked and they were recooked in the oils where they become mush. The flavor was good but the...
Read moreWe came on a Saturday night and the restaurant had a perfect flow of customers. We didn't have to wait to get seated at 6:30.
Ordered a starter of roti and calamari followed by green curry with beef, house noodles with beef and yellow curry with chicken finished off with mango sticky rice.
The roti was delicious but extremely rich. Tasted like and felt like a quarter stick of butter in those 4 halves. The roti came with two sides of sauce, a fish sauce with onions and chili and a thicker peanut sauce. The calamari has a light batter which I prefer. It came with a sweet and sour sour of sauce on the side.
I enjoyed my green curry. I wasn't asked for spice level but mine came out relatively mild.
I asked for less sweet on Thai iced tea and it came out just the way I wanted.

Read moreUpdate: 9/15/17 This visit and the time before, the consistency of the flavor of the food has been off. The flavor of the food used to be very flavorful here. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case these last two visits.
While the Drunken Noodles tasted close to how it was before they still aren't the same. And the Green Curry was very bland and could even be considered watered down. Usually the coconut milk provides a nice thickness. Even still, typically you can see the specks of spices in the dish, not last night.
Lastly, we requested one dish to be spicy and the other to be medium spicy — unfortunately neither happened.
The restaurant is aware of the issues and hopefully they will have them resolved by the next visit. Until then, I hope your milage fares better than ours.
