Wish there was an option to give no stars and still be able to write my thoughts about this restaurant.
Being an Indian, I know how Indian food is supposed to taste like. Their Chef definitely needs to take a break from cooking and take some basic Indian cooking classes. It is a shame what you are selling as food.
Paneer Sabji - tasted rotten, expired paneer, absolutely horrible amount of red chillis, paneer was hard to chew.
Mix veg- It looks like they're using frozen vegetables (most likely expired), no taste what so ever, undercooked.
Baigan bharta- way too much salt. Had so much water.
Malai Kofta: only thing that tasted okay, but extra sweet.
Garlic Naan- felt like I was chewing on some plastic.
Aloo paratha- nothing like a paratha. They gave us puri filled with potatoesand green peas (Deep fried).
Overall, horrible food. If you want to waste your money and time and mess up your body, feel free to go there. Not recommend at all. This was one of the worst food I've ever had.
FIRST ANF LAST TIME.
Reply to owner's review :
You are in a food business, not us. We paid for food n had decent expectations. We don't want money back, nor discussing this via phone would have changed our experience. Reading your pathetic response, I really feel you should close your restaurant and review your life choices. Feeding other people is a noble cause, one which definitely is not for you.
Lastly, if you are worried about multiple bad reviews, fix your food. No one wants to give a bad review for no reason.
Second update: as per owner request, we went to talk and discuss with him what went wrong. It was a civil discussion. At the end he offered to give them a second chance and that too on the house. That is exactly what we did, but to our dismay same result. Naan were still in sorry state, curries either sweet or extra salty. And had to pay again for everything minus $10, they completely backtracked on making amends. Fool me once shame on you, but fool me twice shame on me.
I am glad God made us capable enough to pay for this horrible food. But still regret buying it not...
Read moreMy favorite Indian Comfort Food in Hollywood. Spoiler alert: could improve in so many ways. Authenticity: 4-5 Stars. This is as close to my grandma's spice flavors, growing up off 6th Street in Manhattan in the 90s, as I've found in Los Angeles. She used frozen veggies and so do they. Medium means hot. Hot means extra spicy. As I.F. should be. Brings me back in time. Hipster foodies may or may not get that this is the REAL way to cook Indian. Service: 4 STARS. Almost overly-polite. And overall excellent. But one gets the feeling they aren't really listening just overly complimenting our taste in THEIR food lol. We wonder if they may not be good with a sticky issue. Hmmm time may tell; hope not. Atmosphere: Biggest long-running mystery and a 1 star stunning fail in a city where style 100% MATTERS. Empty subway stationesque walls can be seen from the Lankershim commute from so many studios. C'mon guys! How can you have a beautifully stark black & white canvas, blocks from the world's most famous Studios, and not take advantage? In the neighborhood there's classic LalMirch Indian elephants and other boredom; there's Bollywood Cafe over-playing the Life of PiDog Cirkus Slum Millionaire hand (on a train) hand; so cmon RCC, surprise us with something! We know you can. Food this authentic in Hollywood deserves better. Indian Restaurants cutting...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Royal Curry Cafe, an Indian restaurant that takes your taste buds on a journey through the vibrant and diverse dishes of India. From the moment I stepped foot in the restaurant, I was greeted warmly by the friendly staff and cozy ambiance that made me feel welcomed.
The menu was filled with a variety of traditional Indian dishes, and I was blown away by the depth of flavors and spices used in the two dishes that I ordered.
The garlic naan bread was freshly baked, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside, served steaming hot to the table.
To complement the meal, I ordered their classic Mango Lassi, a creamy yogurt drink that was the perfect balance for the spices in my meal.
The service was prompt and fantastic throughout the meal, and the staff was very friendly, ensuring that I was aware of the level of spicy beforehand. The restaurant atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making me want to come back for more.
In conclusion, Royal Curry Cafe truly embodies the perfect Indian dining experience. From the quality of the ingredients to the level of service, this restaurant certainly earns its name. Every dish was packed with flavor, spice, and authenticity, and I cannot wait to go back for more. This restaurant comes highly recommended, and I guarantee you will not be...
