Disappointing First Experience – Unlikely to Return
Last night, we decided to try Shishi Lounge for dinner and tea. We called ahead, and a gentleman took our name for a reservation — no mention was made of any minimum spend requirement.
Upon arrival, the hostess seated us, but then our server informed us of a $60 per person minimum. My brother explained that we had called earlier and weren’t informed of this policy. The server then said he would make an “exception” for us, which already made the situation feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming.
My brother, trying to keep things polite, mentioned that only 2 or 3 of us (out of 5) planned to eat, and the rest would order tea and appetizers. He even asked if we should just leave. The server responded with, “Don’t worry, I know my job — I’ll make it work.” So we decided to stay.
We ordered a soltani, a combo appetizer plate, some drinks, and tea. However, we were charged for a lemon tea we never ordered. At that point, we were too drained to argue over a small charge, so we paid the bill and left after about an hour and a half.
As for the food: • Appetizers were below average • Soltani was just okay — nothing memorable
Overall, our first visit felt uncomfortable, and the lack of transparency, average food quality, and questionable service left a poor impression.
You want to spend your money at places where your business is appreciated and you’re treated with respect and served quality food. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case here. I doubt any of us will...
Read moreI wish there was an option to place 0 stars because I would. The experience I had here was outrageous. I will provide a bullet point list. I ordered a virgin mojito and it was $12.95 my boyfriend ordered a whiskey coke and it was $19.95 my boyfriend ordered a hummus that was $24 So all a grand total of $57. We asked the owner why everything was extremely expensive being that it's encino not Beverly Hills top 5 star restaurant and he said my rent is $20,000. I am evaluating their website and the website lists the humans for $12. Im wondering where the remainder of my charge on my check came from. After reading these reviews I realized that they are charging a gradituity. It was never advertised or said anywhere that would apply. In addition, I tried to contact them and express my concerns and the phone number listed is a random persons number. I tried calling the number on the old menus and the number on my statement that I recieved - and still nothing. Not to mention, I came home and about an 3-4 hours after I was so sick with the worst stomach ache. I hope they contact me to rectify! A LEGIT SCAM OF A RESTAURANT! will be reporting to better...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this hookah lounge for the past two months, and it’s quickly become my go-to spot. I visit a few times a week to relax, enjoy some hookah, and even eat lunch while I get some computer work done. The atmosphere here is incredibly peaceful, perfect for unwinding or focusing on tasks.
The owner, Imin, is always onsite and incredibly friendly, creating a welcoming vibe from the moment you walk in. The staff, especially Amir, are top-notch—Amir always remembers the hookah flavor I order and makes sure everything is just right. Ramin is also super friendly and adds to the great experience.
The lounge is clean and well-maintained, with restrooms that are always stocked with soap and paper towels, which is something I really appreciate. This place is the perfect blend of relaxation, productivity, and great service. Highly...
