Today like most days, I decided to get myself a little breakfast sandwich and a coffee from Starbucks. This particular locations is on the corner of Winnetka Avenue and Sherman Way here in the valley. Food here is mediocre and feels like it's just something that's already made and frozen and then they heat it up in the toaster or microwave. So the food is not really anything special. The service is always really good. I order through the app and then pull into the drive-through and tell them my name and they tell me to come to the next window that they'll make my order. Depending on the location you go to determines the quality of the drink itself and how well it's put together. This particular location is nothing special and always screws up at least one thing on the drink or drink tastes like they didn't put enough of something. The ambience inside of the location is top-notch and well kept like any other Starbucks. You will find people sitting with friends over a cup of coffee or some tea or find some people working on a laptop either doing some schoolwork or getting their job done remotely. Also, the bathroom is normally well kept and has a code on the door so that only customers can come in and use the bathroom, which is well appreciated. Overall, the Starbucks is just like any other Starbucks that I will return to when I feel like getting a drink either in the morning or midday and need a little pick up from some caffeine. And, it's the closest Starbucks to my house got a support the...
Read moreI am an old school Starbucks partner so my numbers are ancient and I outrank most Regional Managers. Starbucks as a company is a great way to get ahead. They have the Partner Alumni Network, plenty of perks for their employees and during COVID they had to set a lot of guidelines. I used to dread this location until they changed their manager. Now it’s awesome.
Today I actually stopped in the store to get my usual. I asked them for extra extra extra cinnamon powder. Because that’s always free to add. And the partner who made my drink said to me, “Just let me know if it’s too much cinnamon”. I replied with, “their’s no such thing as too much cinnamon powder.” 😅 For the first time I was actually surprised. There is such a thing as too much cinnamon powder. But you can’t blame a barista for following instructions.
Right on fellow Barista. That was definitely a good kick to my day. Other than that the store is nice. The drive through gets packed sometimes especially in the morning and be careful making a turn out on to Winnetka Ave from the drive through. Especially if you’re making a left. It’s an easy spot to get into...
Read moreWith the attitude of the employees, you would think this was a classy, exclusive coffee shop to the stars. I mean, I’m there, but still. It’s on Sherman Way in Winnetka, which may as well be Compton. There’s zero excuse for such arrogance. The company needs to fix the headsets or the staffers need to de-wax their ears because they can never hear anything over the speaker. One of the snooty coffee pot operators had the chutzpah to try and lecture me about speaking louder once I got to the window. Ma’am, everyone isn’t a loudmouth, like you. Besides, it was a mobile order. Just hand it over, minus the yapping. I politely pointed out to her that her little lecture took more time than just looking at my phone screen and reading the name from the app. It’s not like her speech was life changing; I’m going to go on being my usual soft spoken self. I think that fancy terms, like barista, give them delusions of grandeur. The last time I went inside (because the drink was wrong), I observed a large Doberman pet, licking the counter while the coffee pot operator just stood there, giggling. Of course, she did not clean...
