El Pollo Loco — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I stopped by today just to get some drinks for my employees and they asked to use the restroom (for the code) but the cashier named Carmen probably did not see me ordering for them and as i was waiting with the receipt she started mouthing off to another customer saying “son unos mentirosos siempre pretendiendo comprar y solo quieren usar el baño…” I’ve came to this location maybe like 4-5 times throughout the year and never just to use the restroom without purchase. Its extremely rude and unprofessional to mouth off about other customers loudly just because she thought they walked away and could not hear her anymore. Specially when she had her facts wrong. After I confronted her that i had paid for their drinks with the receipt and informed her manager in front of her she didn’t know what to do. The manager said she’d talk to her but unfortunately I am unsure weather she did. I understand its a fast food restaurant so i dont expect good service but this behavior of mouthing off should...

I have liked the chicken at El Pollo Loco in the past, but our experience today has changed my opinion about El Pollo Loco, at least this one. We picked up did from the drive thru, and my 17 year old daughter got the same burrito she always gets. This time, she came to me and told me that the chicken was raw and then promptly went to throw up. The chicken was, in fact undercooked. I understand that things happen, and restaurants make mistakes. I went to inform them about the problem. Instead of apologizing, the manager said that it looked that way because it was thigh meat. The texture was clearly not correct, and I said again that it was undercooked. She refunded the money to my card... which will appear in 5 to 10 days. I wouldn't be writing this if her attitude had not been one that implied that we were wrong and that she was bothered by having to deal with me. I don't typically write bad reviews for honest mistakes. I do, however, for terrible...

The drive through can be a bit hard to navigate if its your first time through. This pollo loco is in a busy plaza, so be sure to mind the traffic as you go to and from the place. There wasnt much of a wait in the drive through at 5:30pm on a Tuesday. The usual difficulty ordering through the intercom, having to repeat myself a few times to get the order correctly entered into the queue, all items were accounted for when we got the bag. We were asked the type of tortillas we wanted, and if we wanted chips and salsa, both things a plus in favor of the location. Cashier wore a mask, but said nothing about mine being half off, as i was just finishing a phone call. Friendly, quick transaction. All in all probably as good as it's going to get at a franchise chain chicken joint...
