As someone who’s been to Sushi Enya several times and planned multiple team and business dinners here, I was SHOCKED at the state in which my delivery order arrived tonight. It was partially the Uber Eats driver’s fault, but seriously? Packing nice sushi in cheap, oversized hinged taekeout containers…? In a plastic “thank you have a nice day” bag..? Not even a structured paper bag..? The sushi all flung around willy nilly. The photo speaks for itself. We lost all appetite for the meal. Paid $99 for two people - was in disbelief at what was delivered. Two stars in consideration of the decent quality when dining in and the friendly staff (at MDR location), but the deep lack of integrity/consistency in the takeout experience speak for the restaurant’s values. Sad.

Amari...Not great. Maybe I had higher expectations because of previous reviews and I saw a Nihonjin chef, but the sushi was surprisingly just okay. Ordered the fatty salmon and fatty yellowtail. Flavor was good, but it didn't look like toro and it was very small (see photo). The tiger roll tempura piece was not enough to add crunch and the avocado was soft, so the consistency was very mushy and not balanced. The tamago sushi had very little flavor and color was very light which made me think they thinned it out too much or used less quality eggs. I expected more from a Japanese sushi place located in a primarily Japanese area.

I never had spicy tuna like I had it here, it's just superb.

Came here because I was drawn by the happy hour menu but I will definitely come back if I'm in the area because it was both delicious and worth it.

Reservation: You can reserve a table online via open table!

Parking: They do validate if you park The Block which is the plaza nearby to their location.

Service: Amazing and friendly, the staff were on top of it and service as quick and prompt.

Food: Happy hour varies every day and they have a selection of items available.

CRISPY RICE TUNA - this was by the far my most favorite thing. The spicy tuna is minced so well and had such an amazing texture and taste. I dream of this. Complimented by the crispy flavorful rice soaked in this umami sauce. This was a flavor bomb, and this is the one recommendation I would say you have to get.

I also got the sashimi platter and plate and a handful of nigiris to try. They were all great quality cuts of fish and the rice for the nigiri was well seasoned.

They have a daily roll that is on the happy hour menu and the day we went it was the Tiger Crunch and that was delicious. The subtle hint of chili oil was a nice touch and ofc the spicy tuna inside was dreamy. They fan out their rolls into this beautiful long plate that makes it super aesthetic.

Next time I will have to try the omakase which...

I'm giving 3 stars to food mainly because of the hand rolls and sushi rolls. Miniscule amount of fish used. It's almost paper thin. They use imitation Krabi for filling. I expect this from $8-15 rolls not from $25 rolls. They take the same roll that's generally cut into 6-7 pieces and cut them super thin to make it look like more food.

Overall rolls were very disappointing, all of which was made by the white lady at the sushi bar. There was so little fish meat that I could barely taste any.

Sashimi was great and was made by the main sushi chef. I think, sorry if misspelled, Takashi. Very nice guy and really knew the fish. He gave us a surprise octopus which was great. He also invited me to taste a couple of pieces of Bonito and barracuda that was for their own tasting for future menu. They were amazing. I wish I could give 5 star to food but the rolls killed it for us. A bit of lack of skill and very stingy fish on rolls, worst of all using imitation Krab really...
