Working here took a massive toll on my physical and emotional health--from creepy male employees to abusive managers and an unresponsive hr team, Tatsu ramen was an absolute nightmare. Certain male coworkers were way too touchy and would make disgusting explicit comments toward female employees. When I brought these concerns to management and asked to not work with certain individuals they continued to schedule me with these employees and it was so beyond harmful for my health. And afterwards the one shift leader I reported these instances to went and told the person I reported that I reported him. This person then gaslight me in front of all his friends/coworkers. And the change in how the male coworkers treated me was so evident afterward. Only one male coworker reached out to make sure I was okay. Paul you are an amazing person
Read moreCame here for dinner after an afternoon at the beach. We haven't been back here for a few years and glad we were able to fit it in.
The seating and ordering process is very efficient. First, you check-in with the host who asks if you want to dine in or takeout. For dine in they take your number and text you when the table is ready. Lots of shops around so waiting is not too bad. We came at the late dinner rush so we waited. We were quoted 20 minutes but got our table in 5.
When you have a table then you place and pay for your order via tablet and proceed to your table. The place was bustling with lots of customers. Inside is small with space for 10 customers at tables and maybe 8 at the counter. I did notice a patio they set up outside which adds additional space.
We ordered 3 ramens - 1 bold ramen and 2 old skool. I love the customizations allowed on the ramen. I got the bold and I got extra green onion and no garlic and 1 soft boiled egg. My wife and daughter got the old skool and had it with thick curly noodles and wood ear. Both ramens were really good with the broth being very flavourful. The pork was a little dry and on the old skool, the noodles were not quite QQ.
I also ordered a Jones orange cream and chasu rice. When we sat at the table, a waitress right away gave us water but forgot my Jones. We had to flag another person later to get it. He chasu rice was really good.
The place is bustling and it looks like they get lots of customers for dine in and to go. As a result, service is a little spotty. The staff are friendly and helpful but they are so busy that they just are so focused on their tasks that they forget about you until your order is ready. Also, I got my bold ramen first and I was halfway through before the old skool came.
We still like this place and...
Read moreTL;DR: Just go to one of the multiple tsujita locations across the street lol. Food was ok at best, certainly not worth waiting or going out of your way for, service was awful. During our 45 minute wait, there were empty tables both inside and outside. Management/staff don't seem to be trained properly or understand how their own systems work. Just go to one of the multiple tsujita locations across the street lol.
-Ordered at the restaurant kiosk and was told the wait would be 15 minutes for a party of 3 and would receive a text as soon as our table was ready. Cool no problem, walked around and checked out the shops nearby. -We checked back with the hostess at around the 20 minute mark and were told we would be seated soon. -We checked with her again as we watched 2 parties (also parties of 3) who were behind us in line to order at the kiosks, were seated. Confused, we asked the hostess for an update and she asked if we received a text, but we hadn't, so she insisted we wait for the text and dismissed our concerns when we told her we had been waiting for 40 minutes. -At around the 45 minute mark, the hostess switched and we watched as another party of 3 placed their orders at the kiosk, talked to the host, and were seated immediately. We asked the new host why a new party was seated immediately, and he checked our confirmation number again. It turns out our party was already marked as seated. He apologized and seated us at the counter as we sat for another 10 minutes to wait for our food.
The ramen was ok, the broth...
