Taj of India — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Man, I'm not sure where to go with this one. The food itself might be fine, and I MIGHT go back again, but the service was so disappointing . . .

I called a little after 2 for a 5pm pickup. I was surprised when the employee said it would be okay, but if 515 would be acceptable - I said sure. They Got the particular spice levels wrong, and with kids who actually eat Indian food you cannot mess that up!... when I arrived a little after 5 (thought MAYBE it would be ready sooner) I was told "a few more minutes, just waiting on the gobhi" and so I offered (would have been nice had the kid (younger gent) offered [the service, partly why this experience blew]) to pay now rather than do so later....

I saw the bill rung up and they charged me for butter naan, and I ordered cheese naan (which at this place isn't what I expected - REALLY crappy) and so when I said something he changed it and, my fault for not paying attention, seemingly went into the kitchen likely cause he messed up the order. So already 520 no sign of my food and when I asked I was told "well we get lots of online orders and we open at 5 so . . ." But I was told about 15 min ago only a few minutes??? 530 rolls around and I get my food. Was offered a mango Lassi for the trouble,... that tasted good, but ultimately they got another aspect incorrect. I was given butter chicken and not chicken makhani - I called and was told that it's the same thing but they just add butter...really??? And again the service (which is a consistent review notch for this place) was rough. The young gentleman was as friendly as "Lurch". I mean, c'mon man, maybe PRETEND to have some customer service!??

The food tasted fine I think getting thru the spice level issues, but again that was only a mess because of the kids trying to eat the food.

I just moved to west hills and this was my first Indian food attempt - not sure...

Best food quality ever! Their specialty is CATERING, however the restaurant also brings out really quality food. You might have to wait a little for the food but that's because they make it fresh so it is definitely worth waiting for a quality food. Anybody considering catering Indian food, Please give them a try, nobody can bit their service and food quality in the whole southern California. We tried and tasted food at various places but nobody could come close in the quality and taste! We just had a huge 50th birthday event over the weekend and we had them catered the whole event. Holy Oh My Please Hold My Samosa And Mango Lassi While I Get My Bollywood Dance Moves Started! If I were sitting down [shoes off] eating this blessed wonderful food, I would look around to make sure I wasn't sitting in someone's Grandmother's home! The taste, spice levels and samosas were BEYOND PERFECT!

Oh oh oh wait there's the market! My husband had to give me the "Jane Jetson" treatment...I almost restocked the kitchen! 😅 Let's just say when you go in there, be prepared to blessed those lovely people that are able to provide such distinct products and stellar...
