We recently moved to the area and have driven past The Dough Room countless times, noticing its solid reviews and lively vibe. Tonight, we finally decided to check it out for ourselves. For a Sunday evening, the restaurant had a decent crowd and a pleasant atmosphere inside. They also have a large outdoor patio, which initially caught our interest, but when we arrived, it was completely empty — a little disappointing since we were hoping for a more lively outdoor dining experience.
The service was average overall and felt slightly disorganized at times, though everyone was friendly. The menu is extensive, offering a good mix of Italian-inspired dishes along with a nice cocktail list and solid beer selection. And the prices are fair.
We started with the garlic knots, which unfortunately were on the dry side and didn’t quite hit the mark. The wings were a winner for our table- crispy on the outside, with a sweet & zesty sauce, and juicy on the inside. The salads were also delicious — both the Caesar and the chopped salad were fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced.
Since this is primarily a pizza spot, we had high hopes for the main course. We went with “The Spicy Bear” — pepperoni, Calabrian chili, ricotta, Mike’s Hot Honey, and basil. While the idea sounded promising, the execution fell flat. The crust was dry, the overall flavor felt muted, and the honey was overly dominant, overshadowing the other ingredients instead of complementing them.
All in all, our experience was just okay. The wings, salads and drink menu might bring us back, but for pizza, we may keep exploring other options in the area before returning here. If we do come back, it might just be for cocktails on the patio (hopefully when...
Read moreThe Doughroom is our neighborhood restaurant with a good vibe and tasty food.
So on 27th February 2024 Tuesday at 9 pm I took my wife to this place expecting a pleasant night for both of us. To our surprise, we have to deal with moody unpleasant service from the server.
I guess It all started when we took the wrong table by misunderstanding when the server pointed different table.
" It's around 9 pm on a Tuesday "
There were around 3 tables including us in the whole restaurant inside and outside.
The server came to us looking upset and the first thing she said was that this table is usually for six people but that's ok that you guys took this table.
First of all, There's no need tell to the customer if that is ok! and if that's important on a Tuesday at 9 pm. The server Could rather walk the customer to the table or at least be simply specific. " That two-seat table " Period!!
It wasn't finished with that!
The server brought our food and just brought one plate and told me to take the plate which was already lying on the table before we arrived at the restaurant.
I asked if she could get me a fresh plate since it was there already before we sat. It was awkward she just annoyingly murmured something to herself and then brought the plate to me.
Not in my life any service person did that to me in any restaurant I have visited.
So bizarre
I have Been saying good things about this restaurant for some days and finally visited with my wife and it was embarrassing to experience this kind of third-grade service for absolutely no reason!
I hope this will change.
thanks to the...
Read moreBeen looking forward to this place for a long time. Atmosphere is awesome - cozy and fun. The food was pretty good.
My husband and I were dining with another couple, so there was four of us. We ordered salads to start, a pizza for the table to share, and we each ordered an entree. The entrees came out first, and then all the other food came out immediately after, piled up on the table. Salads were not served first. Nothing was coursed out. I have pretty much zero tolerance for that kind of experience, which accounts for the three stars when the food and atmosphere is nice.
We had a tre-colore salad. It was a hearty serving, but there was no dressing to be found. If it was mixed in, I couldn't tell. So that was lame. The menu said it had farro in it, but it did not.
The Spicy Bear pizza was the highlight of the meal. Delicious - if you go for pizza, be sure to order that. Great combination of sweet (honey) and spicy (pepperoni). Everyone loved it.
I had the shortrib - it was okay. Not bad, but I would not get it again because there was nothing special about it. My husband ordered the burger. He liked it but said the bread wasn't great.
Overall this was an okay experience. Service was unacceptable though. They just piled the food all over the table. I can't get over that :( If we had been alone, I would have commented to the server. But we were with friends, so I just let...
