TLV Tapas Bar — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Completely uncalled for experience. I celebrate every birthday here but this one was completely different. Brought my wife here for dinner for her birthday. I told 2 different servers it was my wife’s birthday and to bring a candle so we can sing happy birthday. They asked us if we want desert I said no extra desert we are good, out of nowhere check came and cake did not. I look at server embarrassed as to where my wife’s birthday cake is.. he looks back at me and said I cancelled the desert.. dude wth!! I immediately brought out my card again and I said OK charge my card but then he kept arguing with me making me look Awkward. After a 22% tip probably the highest tip that was not a good feeling. I’m not gonna have anybody forcefully bring a cake for my wife after my wife is visibly watching us argue about it. I am so upset destroyed our entire night for my kids, my wife and my family. no complaints on the food and no general complaints on the server other than this understanding this should’ve been handled completely different when he realized I still wanted a birthday candle. Advice to anyone who comes here triple certain your birthday candle is coming or you may be very disappointed and embarrassed. We visited TLV Tapas last night for a birthday celebration, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. We booked our table in advance, expecting a smooth evening, but the service was shockingly poor from the start. Our waiter treated us with an attitude that felt dismissive and unwelcoming, making us feel like we were inconveniencing them just by being there.

We had to ask multiple times for basic things, and even after reminding them, our requests were either ignored or met with reluctance. On top of that, the food didn’t come out on time our reservation was at 10 PM, and even though we preordered, an appetizer as simple as a salad didn’t arrive until around 12 AM. For a birthday celebration, there was zero effort to make it special in fact, they seemed annoyed when we asked for anything related to it.

Before the manager went home, he did try to make amends by bringing a small round of shots to say sorry, but once he left, it was as if the waiter doubled down on her behavior. We would have loved to come back, as it seems like a great place, but service is clearly not...

I went to TLV Tapas Bar last week and shared a meal with my colleagues. The food was really good. Keep in mind this is a Tapas place. So the food portion is small. It is designed to order multiple dishes and nib from each other's plate. I ordered the Chicken Musakhan. It was so soft and tasty. Also, you must try the Jerusalem Bagel. It was so warm and fresh and soft. Delicious. It is not a cheap place to go particularly because the food portions. Ideally a good place to bring a date and you won't feel stuffed (which I like). The ambiance was nice and the lights were dimmed. However, there must've been at least 6 people having birthdays that night. The music was a little loud for my taste. Other than that I would say it was perfect. I would definitely go back and I recommend you should try it too. The servers were on top of their game.
