Caffe Latte Da! — Restaurant in Louisiana

The owner carelessly violated the American Disabilities Act. First, she asked me 2 times if my dog was actually a service dog (it is, he has been trained, and he had on a bright red vest that said service dog). The dog was behaving, laying down on the floor right next to my left foot, being quiet. The dog is very small- he weighs 12 pounds, he is clean and healthy. 3rd time she came up to me telling me I had to leave unless I could prove with paperwork the dog was a service dog, or why I needed the service dog. I explained all 3 times I was approached that I needed the service dog and that it is a violation of the ADA to ask for medical paperwork. Two of the times I said you are embarrsing me, please stop or I can leave/contact my attorney. The 3rd time the owner justified the violation of ADA saying she called the department of health and they told her it has to be a service dog and you "can tell" if it's a service dog. Finally, I called to ask for the owners name in order to file a complaint with the Department of Justice, and the owner refused to give her a name. I have spoken with the Department of Justice and our attorney since this all happened. We weren't provided a name so we will file the complaint against the business. We will never eat here again. I have a disability and some mental health issues as well. Not only was I embarrassed, but it was extremely invasive to ask repeatedly why I needed the dog and for paperwork. The owner of this company is inconsiderate, and careless. There is a hefty fine associated with a violation of of the American Disability Act. All I wanted was to relax, and drink some coffee. Everyone here is friendly. From the lady at the register to the cooks in the back, all have the same wonderful New 'Awlins' behavior that we were taught from young.

Needless to say per the previous comments here, the food is off the chain (meaning it's great for those that need translation) and I have frequented this place when I don't feel like cooking. When we find a good spot to eat at, we stick with it... :-)

It's good to know that in these trying times, we have reliable, dependable workers and businesses. Thank you all for your services!! :-D

The food is still great. However, I've noticed over time that ordering on Sundays can be problematic. While I understand that Sundays are more than likely busy days for them, the business should understand that as well, generally speaking (I'm sure they do). Their employees should know that even better being on the front line of the restaurant. There's a young Male employee that I have interacted with several times (more than three). Each time, he has come off being rude. I called and placed a phone order each time and he left me on hold an average of at least five minutes. Then when I went to pick up my order, I waited an additional 20 minutes (after waiting 30 minutes to pick it up) to get it.

That's not good service, so Sundays aren't necessarily good days to get good customer service from a particular...

First time visit. They apparently didn't offer their full menu on the weekend, so had to settle for something other than what I tried to order. Had a Bacon Cheeseburger and fries. After waiting nearly an hour for our order, the food arrived hot. It seemed the staff had to apologize to nearly every customer for their wait. If you have to do that, you should look at why it is taking so long to get people their orders and work to remedy that issue. I would say it comes down to the fact that they only prepare one table's order at a time. We were fed excuses as to why we were waiting so long, told numerous times that our food was coming right up, to only wait another 15-20 minutes. Considering half the restaurant was open for seating, I would hate to see the wait time if the whole restaurant were open. Not entirely sure I will be a repeat customer as the food wasn't anything special and the wait was by far the worst I've experienced for such a simple order. I am giving a generous 4 star rating because the food was hot, and the staff were friendly and promptly cleaned tables to seat other diners. Would almost recommend ordering food before being able...
