I ordered 2 orders of fried green tomatoes today at 5:55 pm. The young lady told me give them 15 mins. Arrived at 6:16 pm. Passed a blond hair girl coming out carrying bags, helping a woman to her car for an event for her son. Stood at the counter to be helped. One girl entered the kitchen from the dining area and didn't acknowledge me. I just assumed she was waiting on tables. There was 2 males sitting waiting. A man walks in behind me, and the blond chick comes in behind him. She comes around the counter and immediately asks the man if he was there to pick up an order. He says yes but is not sure what the order was for. She goes in the kitchen to look for his order. I ask him if she knew him because I was here before you and she didn't acknowledge at all. He apologized, and say it's not you, she apparently does not she me standing here. She comes back and continues to ask him what he ordered, and yet still does not acknowledge by saying I'll be with you in a minute or are you dining or picking up? Nothing. She does even look at me. Then a girl with black hair come out to help her find his order. They ask what did he order? He is still unsure. Then the girl with the black asks him did he order fried green tomatoes, he says no. And I say that would be my order, but she has still not acknowledge me standing her. I am in arm reach of her and this heifer does not look at me but turns and starts going through the orders on her register. Then they go back in the kitchen together. At this time I don't even want to order because so out done with this blond chick so I turn and walk out. Their lost. $20 order, they can eat. I refuse to be treated in that manner. I have patronized this business many times and told others about them, but today, I am done. I can take my business and money somewhere else. And I will make sure I don't recommend them to anyone else. I loved this place from the time they opened years ago, but there is always new people there and today I got a bad one. Maybe I'll try the one in Gonzales on day. They seem to give better serve anyway. Just went to this location (Coursey) because it is convenient. Truly 😥...

They were short staffed when we went but the hustle of our server was amazing. We had two tables of 5 and 6, 11 people in all, and she made sure both were well taken care of. She never got frustrated or let us know if she was.
The food was amazing. The fried green tomatoes were a bit harder in the middle than I like but the ranch and remoulade were amazing. We also got the messy cheese fries and the jalapeños were fresh and blazing. Perfecto! I got the chicken and andouille gumbo and I enjoyed the dish. The spice was mild and, even at a 12 ounces, it was filling. Th only issue there was the roux was a bit light. The crawfish is the main reason we go to Dempseys and it was on point. The onion rings are the shoestring version and, when dipped in ranch, they are also delicious. The kids all got chicken fingers and fries, which honestly stand alone as some of the best.
The one food issue was the lack of flavor on the hamburger steak, but it was honestly really good.
The only issue is the wait. But even that is a perk. They were packed and even with the wait people were willing to stay for a chance to eat the food.
We’ve made it a point to go to Dempsey’s every time we visit Baton Rouge and you guys truly make the experience amazing. Thanks for...
Read moreWe got there at 5 minutes after 12. Took 15 minutes for our waitress to get to our table. My husband finally stopped at another waitress and ask her to at least bring us a drink which she did. After the girl took our order it took her another 20 minutes to get it to us and all we ordered was one sandwich and one order of onion rings. When we finished eating it took her a while to bring our check and another 15 minutes to pick up our check and bring us back our card. We were there over an hour for one sandwich and one order of onion rings. Very poor service by our waitress. Other waitresses were coming and going and waiting on their customers. A few tables even finish their meal left and another set of customers came and sat down and got their food before we even got ours. Needless to say we did not tip our waitress very much because I tip on service which was very poor on her part. Many other places to eat on BR with...
