1st of all Person asking what you want serving food at front line told me I need to wait for him to go take a break mind you their were several people behind me but before he walked out while still behind the counter he put his vape in his mouth smoking on it then turned around behind the counter to go pick up his coke can meanwhile still smoking on vape around the customers and our food being served then before clearing the turn around the counter he was on his phone then left to go outside. 1st of all when you have a rush like that you never leave a customer to wait. When he came back apparently his leaving started a trend because he spoke of the affrican American kid next to him the next guy on the line then he made a comment all he does is cry cause I guess he needed a break too. Anyways, he got my 2 potatoes I ordered one with brisket the other with chicken and spinach he told me the next guy dresses the potatoes with all the fixings. But he was not there to put my fixings on. In the mean time the 1st guy started to put the fixings on but told me their were no chives. By that time I asked him (you don't have any in the back?) He went on to tell me I needed to wait a half an hour if I wanted them. So I popped off and said I'm the customer and the sign says when you order these potatoes I ordered that they come with butter, green onions, shredded cheddar, sour cream and bacon. Well longer story short he left again went walking to the back of the store this time and got on his phone again. Now their is one guy at the counter. The guy at the register. Whom never left from behind the counter. When the 1st guy came back from the back and the second guy came back from whatever he was doing. They both seemed to return around the same time I guess the 1st guy realized yes I am the customer and asked the second guy to go cut me some green onions and put them in a container. All thanks to the 2nd guy. But then I went to get my drink and my free ice cream cone and they were out of ice cream. I've never in my entire life been so disgusted on how I was treated by the 1st guy and how he talked to the other employees. I have been in a mngr. Position more than once in my lifetime. I've never treated my customers or the people that worked under me the way I dealt with and saw tonight. I dont care if I got yelled at by my customer. I always smiled and said let me see what I can do to make whatever they were upset about or with better. I am a very unsatisfied customer not to mention the cleanliness needs to be addressed in lobby and bathrooms just the whole store needs to...
Read moreBeing from Texas, I didn't expect great bbq from here. In that way, Dickey's meets my expectations. The food is very "just ok."
What really gets me is that I ran a profit-share event here, where for a few hours one evening, for anyone who came and mentioned our group, we were told we would get a split of the profits from that sale. We had about 40 people from our organization come, most of them getting orders for their whole family, and almost every regular customer saw our promotion and asked to be included in the fundraiser. I was there promoting it the whole time, and at the end saw the stack of receipts which totaled well over $1000 is sales. I asked some of the staff, who worked a lot of events like that, what we might expect to be looking at, and they said at least $300, maybe $400 for us that evening, and we had more of our community show up than they'd ever seen. We were told to give them a week, maybe two before they'd send us a check for our cut.
After the event, I kept following up with Alex Hill, the owner, but after a month still hadn't heard from him. Eventually I got ahold of him, and he apologized, and said he'd mail us a check. After another month, still nothing. It was a total of THREE months before we saw our cut of the profits, and after all that, it was around $72. No response, or justification, after all that work and all that waiting. It was a huge disappointment, way below what we were expecting and projected to reap.
So, mediocre bbq, even for Louisiana, and just awful treatment of...
Read moreNo longer worth the trip. I have been coming here for several years and the food was always top notch for a chain restaurant. Now this place suffers from lack of management, lack of care, or both. We went just before noon, which is prime lunch time and certainly not a time you would expect many food items to be not available. We were greeted when we walked in the restaurant not with a hello, but with a whole long list of food items that were not available. There was a lack of lids for condiments, making taking extra sauce to go treacherous. Out of all the tables, only one was stocked with a roll of paper tolls, and it was occupied, so no paper towels were available. The ice cream cone box was also completely empty. The lemonade dispensor was no longer there yet lemonade was still listed in the app as available. No lids were on the sweet tea dispensors allowing the tea to become contaminated by anything airborne. There was also another glaring health code violation. All of the straws were unwrapped and in a large cup, meaning in order to grab a straw you would come in contact with and contaminate every other straw in the container. All food service straws in Louisiana should be individually wrapped or dispensed from a commercial style dispensor. The whole experience was unacceptable and I am disappointed because I use to enjoy my trips here. No TLC has been given to this place. Most of the window signs are extremely faded and the menus are covered with many unsightly...
