Fat Spoon Cafe — Restaurant in Louisiana

So we sat down at our table, and the minute I looked around and saw how we were different from the other clientele there, I should have known there were going to be issues. Other tables received food, drinks, and even their checks while we had to wait on our waitress to finally show up and get our drink order. Since we knew what we wanted, we went ahead and ordered our meals (thankfully) and she seemed "amused" at my incorrectly calling the Fat Spoon omelet something else (our first time here, so something easy to do). It took FOREVER to get our food out to us, while she happily checked on other tables and not once apologized for how long it was taking for our food. Meanwhile, i had to flag down our waitress for refills on our coffee. Once our food was (almost) at our table with the younger (generation) waitress bringing it out, our older (generation) waitress mistakenly corrected her to take our food to the wrong table (who had been seated many minutes after we had ordered). Her error was corrected by those patrons and we finally received our food, at which time our older (generation) waitress made it a point to again reference my incorrectly calling this dish something else (ironic, right?), as if she must have thought I was stupid or uneducated. After giving her the benefit of the doubt at first (because I'm not hateful or ignorant), I realized WHY her service was lacking towards only us, and why she chose to be condescending---ignorance, hate, and good old fashioned stuck in the past racism will make a person act like that, for no good reason. After all, shouldn't "green" be the only color that matters in this instance? My point is, thanks to her (not so) subtle behavior towards "our type" it's safe to say we won't ever waste our time or money here again. And for anyone else who is an "outsider," they should heed my warning. It sounds...

5 Family members (ranging from 6-45 yrs old) all give it a 4 star. They'd get the 5th star if the floors weren't sticky, didn't seem dirty, my guess it's just the cleaning agent they use. The food was glorious! The bread (burgers) was delicious. Same consistency as Hawaiian bread. The burger itself was cooked well done all the way through and it wasn't any skimpy piece of meat either. I had the burger with the egg, cheese, & bacon. The egg was perfect, just the right amount of yolk came spilling out as I took a bite, the white was not runny whatsoever. The bacon perfectly cooked. No chunks of fat or gristle. And it wasn't thin either, not crumbly or chewy, just right. The 2 oldest had just a regular burger. No complaints, which is a surprise. The most pickiest said he loved the bread. We also had cheese fries with the debris. I wouldn't recommend that, but that's just us. The meat though would go excellent with the burger buns. The cheese fries were great, hardly a fry without a piece of cheese. The youngest had a waffle with chocolate chips. Again, no complaints. The wife had Eggs NOLA. Besides receiving it with mushrooms when we had ordered without it, she said they were still delicious. Great size and portions. The waitress was excellent. She addressed the children as individuals which seems to be something rare and the food service industry. So we really appreciate that. As for pricing, kids burgers (not from the kids menu) were about $10 each, mine was the most expensive at $14. In total it was an $81 bill but well worth it. The service was quick for the amount of people that were in there, between 3 waitresses and approximately 25 people, our waitress definitely checked on us throughout the meal. He wanted some bacon... Googled break fast spots and chose this spot. Called to ask a few questions, the young Lady that answered the phone & my questions was the most precious young Lady. She was patient, and her tone was pleasant. Lo and behold, she happened to be our waitress Caden. Caden, I hope that I spelled your name correctly. Lol, I only asked her to spell it like 4 times. 😆 She was truly a complete blessing 🙌🏻. Ok, the 5 🌟 was given because of her southern hospitality. Good job parents in raising her.

Now the food! Was delicious too. We shared of course, gotta watch my figure expand! Ha! ♡Side of delicious made perfectly grits. ✔️ ♡Waffle for him ✔️ ♡scrambled eggs✔️ ♡Bacon, I don't know if it was that microwaveable, but it was good✔️ ♡potatoes (yes Lawrdt) ✔️ ♡Coffee✔️ It's a MUST that we have to have HOT food, HOT, & HOT ☕️ HOT. Not right off the grill hot, NOPE! WE need put it in the microwave for 45 more seconds to a minute HOT & Caden understood the assignment. ■Really nice, clean eatery ■Close to the RV camp ■Tv's ■Good bit of seating ■Lots of huge windows too see outside ■Great set up ■Serves alcoholic beverages ■Our order came out timely
