My mother and I experienced racism in this restaurant. I decided to go here for my birthday after reading all the great reviews but quickly realized I made a mistake. As soon as we arrived, we were seated in a corner with a small wall blocking us away from everyone. I didnât mind it at first as I actually appreciated the privacy. We started with the roast beef fries as an appetizer and they arrived luke warm as if they had been sitting ready for a while. We didnât say anything and ate them. Then we ordered a small salad that you could tell came out of a bag pre made. It wasnât very good but we ate half of it and didn't say anything. We finally ordered our main entree and waited for over an hour and it never came. There were plenty of people who came before us and after us who had all received their food. Some were already leaving and we still hadnât received anything. We asked the waitress what was going on and she said there was an incident in the kitchen with our meals and it should be coming soon. We waited 15 more minutes and it still hadnât arrived as we watched everyone in the restaurant continue to receive their food. It made us very uncomfortable and we finally realized these people didnât want us there or cared about us. The hostess/ older lady kept giving us a weird look the whole time as well. I didn't want to think this and to be honest I have never experienced this before but me and mom agreed that this what was going on. Racism and inequality. We decided to leave and asked the waitress for our check of the stuff we had already eaten as we weren't looking for a free meal. We even still tipped the waitress as we aren't bad people. She never apologized and it was almost like there were happy we were leaving and could care less. We then went to Dragos where we were seated quickly and given the upmost respect. I don't understand why this happened but it is not right. Every customer in your restaurant should be treated equally, i'm letting other people know about my experience and hopefully you guys will change and correct your behavior. I don't need a fake apology or response now as you guys didn't care to give us one when...
Read moreThis was our first time visiting the restaurant. Let me first say, It's a lot smaller than I expected. However, it provides a more intimate setting. The portions are amazing and the flavors are on point. I ordered the Cheese and Gravy Fries and the Calamari. I'm a sucker for calamari so every time I visit an Italian restaurant, I have to try their calamari. I like to base an Italian restaurant off of their Calamari, Caesar dressing, Veal and of course Marinara sauce! I don't eat spaghetti đ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸
For the entrees, my youngest son had the kids portion of the Shrimp and Fries. My oldest son had the Shrimp Etouffee which was very impressive. For an Italian restaurant they hit the nail on the head. The gravy was delicious. The rice to gravy ratio was just right. I was really indecisive from what I wanted to order because everything sounded so well on the menu until I saw the Bacon Shrimp and Avocado Salad. Goodness, the shrimp were huge and well seasoned. I couldn't decide if I wanted the Caesar or the vinaigrette dressing so I opted for both. They make their own croutons and Caesar dressing and as I will tell you, absolutely delicious.
Our server, Chris was impressive. He was well attentive and knew the menu very well. He made sure that our drinks were filled, our table was always cleared and definitely interacted with my youngest. I found his service to be exceptional. I highly recommend him and when we return, I will ask for him.
Prices are fair and the kitchen was fast.
Overall, if they were more stars they would receive it!!
Oh, and their meatballs are HUGE and PLUMP as my son...
Read moreThis is a wonderful local restaurant. I went two times during my visit here.
The first day I went I picked up some bread pudding and Danielle my server told me I would be back the next day for more. Well, she was right. That was the best bread pudding I ever had. I highly recommend it.
Next day I came back in and I got Mama G's Eggplant and it was also delicious, I cleaned my plate. After that I loved the bread pudding so much I ordered it again, but to go so I could try their Bananas Foster cheese cake which was also phenomenal. They had just enough warm banana's foster and sauce to go with the cold cheese cake, it was delightful.
Overall, the service was great, I saw Danielle again the second day and she was awesome both times I had her. The other servers I interacted with in-between were also kind and working diligently. The atmosphere was nice too, you could tell this was more of a local spot with the history behind the restaurant and the overall vibe. This restaurant's main dishes were delicious themselves, but they absolutely killed it with the desserts I tried.
I will be back here someday, I want to show my friends and family this spot, until then I recommend it to others as well. I hope this place keeps running strong for years to come, because if I ever can't have that bread pudding again I will cry.
Thank you to all of you who work here and make...
