During the strange COVID-19 times it was nice to try out a new restaurant. This is the former location of the Alpine Clocks and Jewelers that I used to love to visit to see their great knife selection so I was very sad to see that place leave (they still have a location on the North Shore) but I was glad to see a Vietnamese place open here. Most of my Vietnamese restaurants seemed to be either closed or carry out only during the pandemic times so I was quite pleased to find Pho Bang was offering normal inside sit down dining at this location.
Pho Bang is a chain with several locations in the area and I have eaten at one other Pho Bang years ago in the area which I still have that Yelp review for and to summarize it wasn't a good experience back then. This experience was completely different as everything went fantastic and the food was cooked perfectly. They even asked if I wanted anymore vegetables with my pho which is a very rare thing to happen. Their pho veggie mix was a bit smaller than some other places I like but I really appreciate that they asked if I wanted more.
My brisket and eye of round pho was delicious and much needed as it was the first pho I had eaten during the entirety of this pandemic. Before all this madness happened I was eating pho at least twice a week so pho had definitely been missed in my life. The service was great and they kept my iced jasmine tea full and were very efficient and professional in ensuring I had all that I needed.
Overall this was a great experience and I'm glad to see they have greatly improved from my previous experience years ago with this chain. In these strange times it was also fantastic to get a good bowl of pho. As so many things continue to be closed I'm sure I will be back here...

Only thing that did make me a little disappointed was that they didn’t have the pork toppings in there like the cubed, congealed pork blood, and pork hock. So, I dropped a couple lines on the owner and he said he would think about it adding it, because if anyone knows Bún Bò Huế (BBH), they know it’s not the same without it. And crazy enough they don’t serve the shredded purple cabbage and typical greens, but, I made do with the steamed bean sprouts, which sufficed. I love this location. The girls here are super sweet and always cheerful. The owner seemed to be around every time that I was there, and always been courteous and super polite, and I’ve been here back to back, 2 days in a row, to enjoy their bowl of BBH. I love supporting Vietnamese businesses like this. This is such a great spot to enjoy a bowl of home made Phở or BBH. This is 2 of the best Phở Bằng locations, in my opinion. So glad they finally opened up one in THIS area of Metairie.

Phở Gà is my thing, and here they make it good. Ladies here are very sweet. Highly recommended as the go-to for your Phở-fix. So glad they opened one up here...
Read moreI usually don’t write reviews but what I received in my order made me sick to my stomach. I have ordered from this location before and the food was good. This past experience was disgusting. I ordered brisket to go with my pho and had it delivered via DoorDash. Well as I was taking my meat out of my container I noticed something I’ve been warned to keep a look out for, FLY EGGS! It was just on one piece of meat, I noticed it was in the bowl I was making my food in also after placing the meat there. I am aware that it’s hard for fly’s to not get in your establishment. The door opens and one gets in and zips all around the place BUT for the food the be uncovered and sitting out long enough for mama fly to lay her eggs and the person who bagged my food not to notice. You’re disgusting. I never had this issue on the westbank location but I will NEVER eat from this...
