I've been going to Hotshot's in Alexandria for over thirty years. It was always a dive back then but I used to love it anyway. In the last year, it has really run down and changed. I work nights now and I love to play pool. Even though they've always had a weird size table, 8 foot, 5 inches size, they're got the only large tables in town. So I go there. It doesn't help my game to go there because of the strange table size. But I've been loyal. Then they started kicking me out around ten pm. Because they don't want to stay open. Not because they're not supposed to be open, just because they want to close early. I told the owner, and he swore that he'd talk to the girls he's got bartending, but they still kicked us out the next Thursday, so I hope they close for good really soon. Read moreThis place is very country. Beers are crazy cheap, bartenders are concerningly attentive. Pool tables are decent, though not intimate. This is not a high end leather couch type of place, despite being close to some hotels. Bartenders will be semi friendly, but they'll be busy and u fending not pc comments from customers.
Clientele involves mother/daughter, father/son groups, military men, local workmen and retiries.
