J's Bayou Seafood — Restaurant in Louisiana

So this business is an Asian owned business. The owners are Asian. I used to come here all the time because the service is good and fast but today I've had a terrible experience and I feel like it had a lot to do with my skin color. My boyfriend who is Asian asked me to get some seafood potatoes from here and gave me his card to buy them because he was working and would be getting off late. When I ordered I was asked to slide the card and put the pin in. I put the pin in and she studied the credit card and seen his name at the bottom of the card and asked "why do I have 'so and so card'" I told her it was my bf which I shouldn't even have to explain because they don't ask for I.d for purchases. She said ok. I went to my car and forgot to get something to drink I went back in she asked "do you have cash?" I said "no why?" She didn't say anything I replied " you think that I'm stealing someone card?" She didn't respond she said "we have a 5 dollar purchase limit" I said that's fine she changed her mind she asked for id for the card I said "no" because y'all usually don't ask for I.d for cards. I come in here and use my moms card my aunts card and I've never been asked "who's card is it" I get that she was concerned. But I feel that if you are that worried your store should have an i.d requirement for any card like other places do. If you don't have it don't ask who card belongs to who. Now if I was another race she wouldn't have questioned it because like I said before I've came here before to get something for friends and family with their cards and never been treated that way. The BEST BOILED CRAWFISH . Always HOT & FRESH . If you’re a seafood lover, this spot is an absolute must-visit! It’s about 10 minutes from the city. From the moment pulling up , you can smell the seasoning from the seafood. It’s edible for everyone when it comes to spices . If you like it really spicy ask for some spicy sauce.

The shrimp boil was packed with juicy shrimp, corn, and potatoes, all cooked to perfection and I added in that mouthwatering buttery garlic sauce with some spicy sauce!! 10 out of 10. My absolute favorite, though, was the crawfish though —JUICY , SEASONED , and so fresh it practically melt in my mouth. I brag to EVERYONE about the CRAWFISH.

The service was top-notch, too. Wally at the front counter was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, even offering great recommendations for pairings.

What really impressed me was the balance between quality and value. The portions were generous, the flavors were bold, and every bite felt like a treat.

Ordered crawfish and a shrimp po-boy on the waiter app. The crawfish were large and tasty. My wife thought they were a little too spicy, but I like spicy crawfish. The sausage and corn were spicy and good too. The shrimp on the po-boy were jumbo shrimp and my wife enjoyed the po-boy. Her only minor complaint was they use hoagie rolls rather than real French bread, but she still liked it. She was full after eating just half.
