First time into this restaurant. First impressions: very clean, a lot of people dining which was a good sign, and staff abundant and friendly. I’m always leery to go to a restaurant that serves multiple types of cuisine. From experience, every time I have gone to these type restaurants I end up having a mediocre meal. With this restaurant, I decided to give it a chance as they were known for their sushi prior to their remodel and had outstanding reviews. Glad I took a chance on Kazoku. My beef spring rolls were the best I’ve ever had. The Salmon on Fire roll was A-MAZING. The fish you could tell was fresh and they were not stingy with the salmon or crab. I saw someone complain about the prices in another review. That review was quite the joke because you definitely get what you pay for. So yes, if you’re ordering appetizers and special rolls, you’re going to average $18-$30 a person depending on what you order. I spent $27 before tip for my meal and I didn’t feel slighted or ripped off by any means. Both quality and quantity were present. I’ll agree that the wait staff looked a little clueless of what they were doing at times but that’s expected when you have new staff so I’m not going to deduct for that. I’ll be...

Kazoku is a great little sushi restaurant located on Hwy 59 near the Donut King.

This place has amazing sushi. Their rolls are priced between $4.95 and $11.00 or so. The ingredients were fresh and obviously high quality. I tried a dynamite roll, spicy tuna and salmon tempura roll. The spicy tuna roll was my favorite. The tuna was so fresh and clean tasting (if this makes sense). This may have been the best sushi I have tried so far.

I had heard great things about their tempura (fried) cheesecake. I didn't care for it, but the rest of the table devoured it in seconds.

The servers were very friendly, but as the restaurant got crowded the service suffered. It took far to long to get our bill, but they had gotten crowded.

Our table ordered six rolls which was enough for three people. The bill was only $33. They do have a special deal where selected rolls are two for $7.99 which is really a great deal.

They do have kids meals on the menu. I believe they have a choice of tempura chicken or shrimp and it comes with steamed or fried rice.

I highly recommend...

Used to be quite good, but has declined so much so that I can no longer give my business and not recommend., Why? First, it has become impossible to call and place an order over the phone, something is wrong with their phone service. Every time I call the number, it goes straight to a voice mailbox that says “mailbox full” which is odd since it should be a landline. This leads me to believe that this is built in so that they may be avoiding too many orders that they end up sacrificing customers,. mission accomplished. Secondly, they expanded the restaurant and yet twice when I went with my friend and another time girlfriend we were told it was a: ready for this…. 60 minute wait. Third, they tack on an additional charge on every item ordered for takeout rather than the total ticket. You already charge over 3.25% when you use a debit/credit card and now that things are back to normal charging on each to-go item is nothing more than greed. Again because of these issues I will no longer do business with...

Good atmosphere with friendly service and good food. The rice paper rolls appetizer was AMAZING, and entrees were pretty good too. Ginger salad dressing did not taste like anything, which was weird – everyone tasted it to be sure, must've been a fluke or one-time thing though, since everything else was delicious. Our server was super nice and patient as we browsed the quite large menu. Prices were fair, and portions were enough that I finished mine for lunch the next day. (Not sure who our server was by name, but she was great! Best identification I can give her is that we visited on Friday, May 6, around 9pm, and our table in her section was right by the front door.)

Great service, oxtail soup reminded me of my childhood. I would say that if you’re thinking about going, try. Even though it costs a bunch, I’ll come back to try the seafood tom yom soup, and I might bring a friend to split since the portions are ample, especially for a young woman like me. Thanks for soothing my sore throat. Note, I think they’re known for mixups on receipts since I saw a couple while I was there. Although I had a mixup, I’m not complaining; I’m grateful I have a healthy support system and fun diverse menu.

Food portions are very small. I ordered the teriyaki chicken & shrimp. It was $17… I was given 3 small shrimp, a skinny strip of chicken, and a ridiculously large bowl of white rice. Take a look at the attached photo. I’ve been to plenty other asian restaurants and ordered the same thing and received much larger portions for the same price. I would suggest going to a different restaurant for lunch.
