I finally made it here and what a beautiful early evening it was. The temperature wasn’t too muggy, you know how our NOLA summers are… a soft wind cascading off the water… and we were nestled beneath the outdoor patio… it was the beginning of a nice night. That sounded like the start of a novel huh??? Lol… duh, I am a writer you know…
Anywho… Even with the popularity of this restaurant, as it is fairly new to the area, we were able to walk right in and get a seat in the covered outdoor patio area and begin dining.
Our server came by & presented us with menus and filtered water from a glass bottle that would remain on our table. This was a plus for me because I like filtered water, tap-water ehhhhh not so much, bottled water, hello let’s save the environment… But filtered water is right on the money.
Thankfully the menu is fairly simple. One side is artwork, looks like a collage of pictures. On the other side are your food choices. He also presented us with a drink menu and to be noted, that one was two-sided, hello…
Grilled salmon tacos for me and for my dining companion a scrumptious looking seafood salad. I also opted to top the night off with an adult beverage called an Old Fashioned.
The grilled salmon tacos were quite tasty. There was a taco to fish ratio that kept my mouth pleased and happy. The corn and beans on top with the avocado were all too delightful. Sadly enough I only got two tacos, but I guess the portion size was right; I can only imagine if I had had a third one, I would’ve been gluttonous and eaten it there or doggy bagged and taken it home.
The Old Fashioned got me on my level. It was powerful. I only needed one, shout out to the bartender.
My dining companion advised that her salad was tasty as well. It looked quite delicious, but honestly the lett to seafood ratio was a little underwhelming to me, but I’m sure it tasted great.
Loved the ambience. All modern & casual, yet elegant at the same time. Due to Covid, I had my apprehensions about going inside, so this outdoor patio situation was perfect.
I found the waitstaff service to be excellent, very attentive and casual at the same time, not all stuffy like some of those hoity-toity restaurants.
The food was good, as I perused the menu, I found the pricing to be more than I expected. A little bit more than the market average but hey that may be due to Covid and companies trying to hedge the bet to turn a profit.
Ample parking. Old Hammond Highway is busy, so be careful.
All in all it was a good experience, I came, I saw, I conquered & I’m out…

Read moreStation 6 is one of my family's favorite restaurants. I had a really exciting surprise to share with them, and I thought this would be a perfect place to announce the great news. As soon as we were seated, I asked the waitress if she could help me with the smallest thing- include some brief writing on a plate similar to birthday messages, with the amazing news. She immediately rudely shut me down. "We won't do that, can't do that, aren't going to help, the best we can do is give you a candle, no, no, no no,..." I asked if she could simply give ME a small amount of dressing and I would do it myself, it couldn't have been any simpler. "No we can't help you," she said. The bartender overheard our conversation and said, "I can give you a straw to write with.." THANKFULLY. I again asked our waitress if she could give me any type of dark sauce/dressing/anything to use... "Sure she said, but I'm going to charge you for the dressing if I let you do that." A few minutes later she returned with a small amount of balsamic and a bread plate for me. Frantically, I wrote the message on the plate as I had now been away from our table for an awkward 10-15 minutes. It took me less than 2 minutes to write the message. Instead of helping or being supportive, the waitress just peered over my shoulder and said, "they're waiting for me to bring the plates..." SO rude. When I finished writing, I gave the announcement plate to the server to bring to the table to share the surprise, however, she wouldn't even wait the 2 seconds for me to sit back at the table before she presented it. No thanks to our waitress, the surprise went excellently. For the rest of the dinner, the waitress acted as though she was soo happy for us. When it came time to pay the bill and tip, she gleefully exclaimed, "wasn't this so memorable, you'll never forget this night, I'm so lucky to have been a part of this..." Seriously? She nearly ruined the entire thing and couldn't have been less supportive. I will not be back to Station 6 after...
Read moreFriday 6-14-23 4:45pm Melissa and I have been craving soft shell crab for a long time so we decided that we would go to station 6 today to finally have some. We were excited and waiting all day to finally go. We arrived there early at 4:45pm because they have a limited supply, and have a first come first serve policy. Because of the extreme heat outside, we wanted to sit inside. They had 4 four top tables available and they would not let us sit there. They said that they could only sit four people at those tables, even though we were there on a first come, first serve basis, and we got there early. They said if we wanted to eat at the bar we could. So reluctantly, we decided to dine at the bar. Then the bartender noticed a couple finishing dessert and asked if we wanted to wait for that table. We said Yes, that would be great and we will order a drink while we wait. Then after ordering a drink, we were asked by the hostess to leave the bar and sit outside in the 97 degree weather since we were not eating at the bar. “Are you serious”! I asked. And she said yes you have to wait outside. We couldn’t even sit at the bar and have a drink….Wow!!! Completely aggravated at how rude this was after we got there early, couldn’t sit at a four top, then couldn’t even sit at the bar and order a drink we decided to just leave, and we will not be back! Bad customer service Station 6. This is the first time I’ve ever actually walked out of a restaurant disgusted by how I was treated as a patron! If you tell people, it’s first come first serve, then that’s exactly how it should be no matter what. It’s evident they choose money over the consumer...
