Randazzo's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Louisiana

SO DISRESPECTFUL - and that was the MANAGER!! Where to begin with my epic mistake. I was driving to my husbands work to bring the office a king cake and called our favorite Randazzo’s to check if any were left - call#1 it rings “please hold” - I hear the girl still there so I say, “hey hun I’m just checking to see if y’all have any cream cheese left” but I hear lots of talking so knowing they’re busy I don’t get upset when she hangs up on me. No big - I just call back as my 3 year old announces “mommy she hung up on you.” Call #2 rings “please hold” hold music - ok, so I didn’t get a single chance to blink before I’m on hold. Fine, again zero manners but Randazzo is my favorite king cake and yeah it’s Lundi Gras so I get it they are busy. I hold 8 minutes en route trying to find out if I should stop somewhere else to get office treats so I’m not late for my husbands lunch break but by now I’m halfway there so I hang up to call back thinking if I can just SPEAK TO A HUMAN, my Q will take 45 seconds or less. Call #3 rings “hold please” music - me trying to speak fast before I’m put on hold “NO WAIT!” - music. I hang up try again. I place Call #4 as I’m pulling into Maurice’s bakery as a backup plan - it rings and a woman answers to actually talk and I say really fast “wait please I’m trying to just see if you have any cream cheese left!?” She says “ma’am you’re looking for the bakery this is the restaurant.” Well I didn’t know Randazzo had a restaurant so I say, “what? Wait is this Maurice’s?” and she says “sorry you have wrong number” and hangs up before I can fumble out “RANDAZZO I mean Randazzo’s!” That happened so fast that apparently I can’t correct myself fast enough before she hung up on me. That was the manager too! Call #5 - rings and they hang up on me!!😱 Call #6 - rings and they hang up on me AGAIN. Call #7 - rings and she answers “ma’am if you keep calling I’m going to have to block your #.” So I say quickly and not only annoyed but now offended “whoa! I’m trying to find out if this is Randazzo’s or not but If you would just take 5 minutes and slow down to explain this calmly, it wouldn’t be an issue. I didn’t know there WAS a restaurant!” CLICK - HUNG UP ON ME AGAIN. Call #8 - rings and they hang up on me. Call #9 - “ma’am we are going to have to block your #.” So I ask VERY QUICKLY for the manager and she says “I AMTHE MANAGER and you need to STOP CALLING.” Click. She hung up again. So - I’ve stopped calling. When my life slows down, I’ll be going in for a face to face with the manager who needs customer service training more than anyone in the industry. But for now, this batch of Ochsner Physicians will NOT BE EATING AT RANDAZZO’s “Family” restaurant. I don’t care how busy you are, if you can snowball a simple call into something that big then you’re grossly lacking in the customer service department - pick a different industry - like one that doesn’t...

When we arrived and realized this was not a Randazzos king cake affiliated restaurant we were bummed, but they did have other king cakes and it wasn't crowded so we stayed. The hood is a little sketchy but I love a hole in the wall so I wasn't put off by the sketchy figures sitting outside. The menu was extensive, but no kids menu. When I inquired about a kids portion they happily obliged. As we waited for our food, and we waited quite a while (40+ min), I was put off by the ceiling which is almost entirely discolored and falling down. The broken video poker machine was also less than stellar. The TV's were playing a show about surviving extreme situations like being attacked by a bear or frost bite complete with visuals of fingers full of fluids being drained by a needle. As I turned away from the view I saw two others doing so as well. The waitress was very kind but also loud and basically shouted to back of house every five minutes. I witnessed two people at back of house without masks and saw both touch their faces with ungloved hands. I imagine back of house to be as disheveled as front. My appetizer of spinach dip never came but we weren't charged for it so we didn't mention it. The food was big generous portions but all seemed to be prepared from frozen and underseasoned. In the end we didn't even pickup a king cake bc we were so put off by the experience. I wouldn't come back and I wouldn't recommend to a friend. Two stars for kindness and...

Food is always great. Fried mushroom, delicious. Hands down best tender pork chop dinner ever. Melts in your mouth. Chicken, awesome, Speg, so so, overall for I think really good and I truly crave the pork chops. Service, sometimes good, sometimes um not so good. I am not a complainer tho. Call in order, honestly terrible. Phone was answered hold on, held on while I heard lady just laughing and conversing with others. Hung up called back, please hold, same thing. Held 8 minutes and she came back to phone will be with you shortly. Phone hung up. Called back again, young guy answered, can I help you I said yes I've been holding, hung up on and yes you can help me. Mam, please hold, so fustrating I just hung up and called Come Back Inn for service. My honest opinion is this could be such a great, awesome restaurant. It needs some cleaning up, those blinds can really turn you off. They are falling and not kept up. Unclean. I know restaurant work is extremely hard but, you could have a goldmine. I understand people have good days and bad, short handed and so forth but, to keep this place going needs some work. Good luck!!!! I will continue to eat, like I said food is really good.
