Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Louisiana

Very sad and dismayed at the fact that, when two rice orders , that were ordered with my three dinner orders were left of. You see, I ordered through WAITR and the restaurants policy is that simply WAITR orders get a smaller portion than the dine in patrons, a fact I was informed of when the restaurant called me after WAITR said they would send the missing rice for two of the dinners missing. WAITR had the rice on the way , the retaurant wanted to call and tell me I was wrong!!! They have a policy on take out and WAITR where the portions are less. REALLY!!!! NEVER ORDERING OR EATING THERE AGAIN!!!!!! ONLY POSTING 1 STAR BECAUSE IT"S MY ONLY CHOICE TO POST MY RESPONSE. I SAY GO TO GOLDEN DRAGON!!!!! CLEARLY I FAILED IN NOT DOING SO!!!!!! I will still use WAITR, it is not their fault that some restaurants are short changing us on our orders. GREED IS...

This is the absolute best Chinese restaurant in Houma, Louisiana! The food is very authentic and very gourmet. This same Chinese family owns Gourmet Bowl on St. Charles St. in Houma too. I brought a large group of Tai Chi students there for my birthday and we were well attended to and everything was a great experience being there. The food was amazing! They have the best Mai Tai mixed drink too. Very authentic taste with that drink. The waitresses were nice and very pleasant and very professional. The manager was so nice and accommodating and even did something very special because it was my birthday. She brought out a blooming lotus birthday flower that was playing the happy birthday song. It was so beautiful! Had such a great time! Will definitely be bringing my Tai Chi students back there for all of our group...

I remember when HKR opened in the mid '80s, it was my favorite spot to eat when I was working at the mall. After all these years and many Chinese restaurant samplings later, I find that the prices and quality are still some of the best in the area. No buffet here, but great service and a wonderful variety of food. The quantity of food in each dish is more than enough, and when you dine in, you get a complimentary cup of soup. I got the Szechuan Lo Mein dinner plate that came with an egg roll, fried rice, and fried wontons. Everything was delicious, but I needed a to-go box, lol. It may have taken a while to come back to HKR, but we will be making it one of our regular...
