Tag's Meat Market & Deli — Restaurant in Louisiana

My Meat Server Was Not Very Friendly Today and didn't answer my questions about washing her hands after she served and was wrapping my ground beef! When I first arrived at the market as I approached the counter, i ask how much was the ground beef today and she started sweeping and had me wait and avoided my question on how much was the ground beef today asking a second time ? So i waited till she was finished and I did not see her wash her hands and she was not wearing any gloves either, then i ask her had she washed her hands as she finally acknowledged me and just replied and said with an attitude manner " my hands are clean mam! Even though her hands may have been clean before she swept the floor with the broom she was using to sweep the flour was not! So I asked her again twice then again a third time and she just kept repeated and avoided my question as she wrapped my ground beef, for the third consecutive time My hands are clean and have a nice day mam! And she looked at me firmly and then turned away as if to say, I do not want to answer you so just leave, rather than ; can I help you with anything else mam ! Sad, I am a regular customer and I love this place and the food is always fresh and clean but I am not so sure since I have experienced what had happened to me today and knowing the owner would not have ever allowed a customer or any body to be treated that way! Hopefully it is addressed because I will not tolerate this kind of disrespect as a regular elderly customer knowing she should have been polite and respectful to me as I was always to her as well as all employees wherever I go. God Bless this place and all of the workers they are usually helpful and kind, not sure what happened this day but it made me feel not appreciated at all today ! Tag's Meat Market is a St. Bernard Parish institution!! They are legendary!! Established in 1948 and they have been consistent and amazing over the decades!! From Hind Quarters, Poboys great deli selections, and of course their in-house made Hog's head cheese and Hot sausages! We have a long history with the Tag family as my Dad worked there in 1960's / 70's and early 1980's. Then I started working there as well from 1984-1987 during my CHS years. It's the place to grab a great poboy, grab some groceries, some deli meats or a 8 pack of Miller Ponies and a pack of smokes to get you through the night, after a long day at work. I don't live in Chalmette any more but still own a second home in Shell Beach. I usually go down just about every weekend during the warmer months to fish. 98% of the time I stop before heading to Shell Beach and pick up a couple of "Po Boys ".
